+x+xCan confirm all games are the Dolphin Stadium next season and for the foreseeable future, Source is old colleague at the club. Looks like there will be a cull of backroom staff soon. That sounds like nonsense.
Roar are one of the few clubs benefitting from the crisis - the move away from Suncorp Stadium is a massive financial boost to the club with a likely positive cash flow impact of around $2.5m through a combination of reduced stadium expenses and an actual ability to make a profit on game day.
The reduction in distribution from the tv rights directly affects the payments to players and there’s never been any surplus to fund “backroom staff” anyway so (the few) staff thry do have should be unaffected. Games at Dolphin?

Games at Dolphin? I know because I was briefed on Monday as I believe The Den were as well so can’t comment (today is meant to be the comms day on the topic as memberships are going on sale).
Either way Dolphin is seen as an interim step and the club (quite rightly imo) pointed out that the nearest rectangular stadiums to Suncorp were Dolphin and Cbus - They’ve been held over a barrel for over a decade on this and I don’t think Suncorp believe Roar would ever leave the stadium - hence they were treated like sh*t
The long term solution is the refurbished stadium which, with FQ’s help, could actually happen now. It certainly will if LNP win on Saturday

They should take some games to Sunshine Coast. It would be good for a weekend away. The Kawana stadium has proved to be great for Melb Storm. With 14k capacity i believe.

Brisbane Roar Football Club wishes to provide an update to its dedicated and long-serving members and fans. We are nearing the start of the A-League and Westfield W-League campaigns – ones we are all eagerly anticipating given what has been a difficult year for everyone. As we continue to ramp up preparations both on and off the field for the upcoming campaigns, we are excited to confirm that Brisbane Roar 2020/21 Full-Season Memberships will be on sale at 12pm on Friday, 30 October. Being a Brisbane Roar member is more than a seat at a stadium on a Saturday afternoon. As a Brisbane Roar 2020/21 member, your contributions enable the Club to grow. These important contributions support our A-League and Westfield W-League teams, our Academy programs and allows the Club to be a continued leader in our community programs, football clubs and schools right across Queensland while supporting the people behind the scenes who serve our members, partners and fans every day. Most importantly, a Brisbane Roar Membership makes you a part of the Brisbane Roar family – a family that sticks together, rides both the highs and lows together, bleeds orange together & does it #ForTheCrest together. Being a Brisbane Roar member is more than a number or a ‘season ticket holder’ – you are what makes our Club. Brisbane Roar will once again offer Westfield W-League Memberships for the 2020/21 season. These packages will be available for purchase at a later date. The economic challenges every family and individual faces are immense with many of our members and fans continuing to face challenging times. As a result of these economic difficulties, Brisbane Roar has restructured its membership pricing to support the climate we all face together. Adult Memberships have been reduced by up to 45% as a result of the current economic climate and to also reflect the disruptions that impacted members towards the end of the previous season. We hold a commitment to ensure our memberships are affordable and accessible to everyone. Brisbane Roar Football Club, as a direct result of the pandemic, has experienced a 40% reduction in revenues whilst the Club continues to support staff and players through the toughest period in the Club’s history. The Club is thankful for the continued support of all its dedicated sponsors, led by Principal Partner ActronAir. Their commitment and your support has seen over 90% of our sponsors retained for the coming seasons. We’re also thankful for many state-based councils and councillors across Queensland who support our club with camps in their local communities, Academy and community programs, as well as a brand new BRFC Women’s and Academy Facility set for completion at South Pine in readiness for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Working with Football Queensland and Football Federation Australia, we are united in a clear focus on securing a new boutique stadium in Brisbane and continue to seek support from the current Federal and State Governments. Not only will this support the Club’s needs into the future, it will also support our national teams as well as community sports and associated events in our State. In the 2019/20 season, the Moreton Bay region hosted top-team fixtures with A-League and W-League matches at Dolphin Stadium. The club will be looking to play its A-League fixtures at Dolphin Stadium for the coming season along with a number of W-League Matches either as double headers or a stand-alone fixture. The club makes these decisions after taking into account the current economic climate as well as ensuring the Club can best serve its players, coaches, staff, sponsors, and most importantly, our dedicated members and fans across Queensland, Australia and internationally. Brisbane Roar will always be a team for all of Queensland no matter if you live in the north, south, east or west of our great state, or you’re among the 100s of thousands of supporters across Australia and around the world. The Club is excited to continue its A-League pre-season preparations, as well as making a number of significant announcements around its W-League team in the coming weeks. Our players, coaches and staff and the Club needs your continued support as a Brisbane Roar member this season. With Queensland Health restrictions on stadium capacities still in place, don’t miss out on ensuring you see every minute of our season as a 2020/21 member. 2019/20 Members who wish to update their auto-renewal preferences are asked to contact the Brisbane Roar Memberships department prior to COB on Wednesday, 28 October. For more information on becoming a Brisbane Roar 2020/21 member, contact our Membership team on 1300 395 020 or via memberships@brisbaneroar.com.au

Hopefully it is a packed house every game, but I definitely feel for the people who are going to struggle to make the games now.

$165 for Adult Orange membership is great pricing.
Edit: For renewing members. I imagine a larger discount to make up for missed games last season?

Good to see. Pretty clear that continuing to slog it out at suncorp was never going to work for the club. I'm hoping there will be more afternoon games so it's easy enough for fans to get there and back. The idea of fighting traffic after work on friday to get to redcliffe isn't exactly appealing.

The small capacity of the ground is not a medium or long term solution however.

I wonder if there’s been any progress on Roar’s new / refurbished stadium they were bravely talking about few months back. Or was it more hot air from the owner?

+xI wonder if there’s been any progress on Roar’s new / refurbished stadium they were bravely talking about few months back. Or was it more hot air from the owner? I believe they are genuine in their interest and desire for it, as I gladly acknowledge there are a lot of people who have and are putting effort into it. I am happy to wait for as long as it takes to get it moving. To me, this is not something to beat up on the owners about.

+xI wonder if there’s been any progress on Roar’s new / refurbished stadium they were bravely talking about few months back. Or was it more hot air from the owner? there has been work with the government and support from football queensland on the development. https://footballqueensland.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/FQ-Strategic-Infrastructure-Plan-2020-2024.pdf it is based around the womens world cup but the benefits are there for the roar. as waz said it will definitely happen if the LNP get in tomorrow (but that is looking unlikely at least in their own right) minority government may make it impossible (particularly as Katter will hold the balance of power and there is very little chance he would allow a stadium to be built in the city). if labor hold on then it could go either way.

$333 for the pair or $12.69 per match. I think I'm going to be jealous. United's member email mentioned nothing about prices being dropped only an UNBELIEVABLE CRAZY GREAT DEAL of 15%(instead of usual 10%) off merchandise and the chance to go into the draw to sit pitch side aha I could be wrong but the way it was worded to me indicated there would be no reduced prices for returning members who gave up our money to faceless o/s owners to watch less games

MV at least gave members the option of crediting the value of the remaining games towards next seasons membership or opting to forfeit the value of those games as a donation to the club.

Article published re: stadium plans: https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/football/a-league/teams/brisbane/aleague-suncorp-stadium-will-fight-brisbane-roars-bid-to-move-to-redcliffe/news-story/9d2107b6b608479d70a2d03fcdff0089Suncorp Stadium general manager Alan Graham wants Brisbane Roar to honour their venue contract despite the club planning to move all their home matches to Redcliffe. Having already switched their training base to the Gold Coast, the Roar will very much be Brisbane only in name if they abandon their long-time home ground to play at Dolphin Stadium, which is situated in the Moreton Bay region. Roar fans are divided over the financially motivated move. While the atmosphere at the 11,500-capacity Dolphin Stadium is far better than the feel of a Roar-sized small crowd at the 52,500-seat Suncorp Stadium, the 50-minute drive from the Brisbane CBD to the Redcliffe ground is a major turn-off. Suncorp Stadium has been the Roar’s home ground since the A-League’s inception in 2005 and the venue for the club’s three grand final wins in 2011, 2012 and 2014. Graham said he was having ongoing talks with Roar CEO David Pourre to resolve the situation and hoped the club would honour its Suncorp Stadium contract, which has at least another year to run. “We’d be very happy to still have the Roar here,” Graham said. “Hopefully, we can work out something that works for everyone, but we’ll keep our discussions with the Roar out of the public domain.” Plans for the Roar to play out of Suncorp Stadium – also the home of rugby league’s Brisbane Broncos and rugby union’s Queensland Reds – remain on the table, with Graham having given Football Federation Australia ground availability dates for the new season, which runs from December to June. Former Roar captain Matt Smith, who led the club to two of their three championships, said Suncorp Stadium would always hold a special place in his heart. “I can only talk about the experiences and history I have playing for Brisbane, and we had some grand occasions at Suncorp Stadium … it’s one of the best football stadiums in the country,” Smith said. “I haven’t been out to Dolphin Stadium as yet. From what I hear it’s a nice boutique stadium. “Being the only club in Queensland, I think it’s important the Roar represent Queensland. “I understand being inside the city (of Brisbane) or outside the city is a delicate situation, but I think Brisbane Roar will always have an association with Brisbane, especially being the only Queensland club as well.” If a new boutique stadium in Brisbane is eventually built, the Roar’s potential move to Redcliffe – where they played two games last season – would only be temporary. In conjunction with Football Queensland, the Roar is pushing for state government funding to build a 15,000-seat stadium at Perry Park, Albion Park or Chandler’s Sleeman Sports Complex

+x+xI wonder if there’s been any progress on Roar’s new / refurbished stadium they were bravely talking about few months back. Given the close association of both the CEO's with the LNP I would be disappointed if Frecklington didn't make it happen.

+xArticle published re: stadium plans: https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/football/a-league/teams/brisbane/aleague-suncorp-stadium-will-fight-brisbane-roars-bid-to-move-to-redcliffe/news-story/9d2107b6b608479d70a2d03fcdff0089Suncorp Stadium general manager Alan Graham wants Brisbane Roar to honour their venue contract despite the club planning to move all their home matches to Redcliffe. In conjunction with Football Queensland, the Roar is pushing for state government funding to build a 15,000-seat stadium at Perry Park, Albion Park or Chandler’s Sleeman Sports Complex If you notice the on-line article has changed its title now. It’s complete fabrication.
