Brisbane's squad looking pretty solid and forming nicely, smart addition considering they will play in the ACL next season as well.
They shocked most people by making finals last season, considering there horror show start to the season. Got some faith in another top 6 finish or at last a fight for it again this season.

+x+x+xAny danger of us signing any new players? Other clubs building nicely and we’ve done SFA. Brisbane Roar has bolstered it’s A-League squad with the addition of exciting Japanese young gun Riku Danzaki. Pretty happy we’ve gone for an AFC player. Hope he’s fast n good. I am happy with him knowing nothing much about him. I hope he has the skill and composure to convert chances rather than just another quality midfielder who can put brilliant passes through to players who miss more than they hit. Come on DWH - this is your season! Really getting quite excited about the 5 December games.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.

THURSDAY, 19 NOVEMBER 2020 Brisbane Roar has bolstered it’s A-League squad with the addition of exciting Japanese young gun Riku Danzaki. Danzaki joins the Roar from J1 League club Consadole Sapporo where he made his top-flight debut at 18 years old. The 20-year-old scored his maiden goal for the club in just his third appearance – a 4-1 J-League Cup win in April 2019 – a competition in which Danzaki made eight appearances and Sapporo finished as runners-up. “I have heard a lot of good things about Brisbane,” Danzaki said. “My strong points are getting involved in attacks, scoring and creating goals. I am looking forward to joining Brisbane Roar and giving my all for the team.” Head Coach Warren Moon says the exciting Japanese product is a superb addition to his squad, and one the Club’s passionate fans should be excited about. “We are stoked to have a player like Riku in the orange jersey for the upcoming season,” Moon said. “At such a young age he brings with him terrific experience having played in the top league & cup competitions in Japan. These competitions are not only some of Asia’s finest, but feature some of the world’s best players. “He’s a player who is coming to Brisbane to develop himself as a player and continue building what is sure to be a huge career in front of him – he’s regarded as one of Japan’s most exciting prospects. “He will not only bring experience, but flair, enthusiasm and talent that I believe is a massive addition to our squad and will be exciting to watch this season.” BRISBANE ROAR SQUAD UPDATE Goalkeepers: 1.Macklin FREKE, 21.Jamie YOUNG Defenders: 3.Corey BROWN, 5.Tom ALDRED (c), 6.Macaulay GILLESPHEY, 16.Joshua BRINDELL-SOUTH, 19.Jack HINGERT, 27.Kai TREWIN, 28.Izaack POWELL, 29.Jordan COURTNEY-PERKINS Midfielders: 8.Danny KIM, 14.George MELLS, 15.Jesse DALEY, 25.Rahmat AKBARI, 26.Jay O’SHEA Attackers: 7.Jai INGHAM,
10.Riku DANZAKI, 11.Joe CHAMPNESS, 23.Dylan WENZEL-HALLS, 77.Scott MCDONALD

With a little over a month to go it looks like Brisbane will be a bit thin depthwise. A good opportunity for youth. But hard to know how we will perform relative to other teams with Covid and everything going on.

+xAny danger of us signing any new players? Other clubs building nicely and we’ve done SFA. I'm not really expecting much, even if we do bring in another player. I've got my expectations lowered, assuming that we've got our defense from last season which is pretty good, but then a lot of the midfield/forward will be made up of younger/less experienced/potentially NPL level players who likely won't be as good as some of the flashier players SFC/Macarther etc have. Worst case scenario is my expectations are met. Best case scenario, they are exceeded. Win/win.

Our BR club is not a second-hand shop! Troisi is from the second-hand shop. It is time to say to him- see you later Troisi

+xI'm prepared to give moon a season to see how he goes. Not interested at all in Troisi. He seems to be one of those players who it's all about him, no thanks, not a team player. who can forget his telephone call antics having a shot at Graham Arnold.....no respect. Warren brings to our fantastic BR club, not a shining Sun but he brings a dark moon!

+xI saw an article that BR have signed Champness on loan from the Jets. Very strong signing and good to see him back in football, he was an excellent talent at the Jets under Ernie. Very direct at running at defenders with the ball and can cause chaos. Real shame to see the Jets spine of a squad implode due to financial pressures. We really need transfers in so they can at least salvage some financial return for players moving like Ibini, Ugarkovic and Champness. It would be much better to sign Guy Sebastian or Jason Biber. Campness is still confused- is he a pop-star or is he an A-League football player? Moon's selection is not a good selection.

+x+x+x+xFull stadiums allowed in QLD from next week 😁 Interesting that 55,000 can cram into Suncorp next week but NYE fireworks in 7 weeks time are cancelled because ... Covid. Goes to show how much sway NRL State of Origin has. +x+x+x[quote]Full stadiums allowed in QLD from next week 😁 Interesting that 55,000 can cram into Suncorp next week but NYE fireworks in 7 weeks time are cancelled because ... Thats because that fat bastard that got voted back in, allowed a twin baby to die because Qld hospitals are only for 'Queenslanders', is a corrupt piece of cheap garbage. I remember what Bob Fulton (nrl Manly's coach) once said about then referee Bill Harrigan, with regards to a cement truck, applies to her.. Oooo...nasty my friend!! however I too am annoyed of the favours NRL get and Anna P's always talking about the NRL. True football is not on her narrow radar. Good that it wasnt someone you or I know hey? Thats about the only thing narrow about ms three chins, her narrow views.

+x+x+x+x+xThe thing with Troisi is that you have to understand that the moment someone offers him a deal elsewhere, odds are he's either going to leverage the club for a bigger deal there, or piss off. At his age: I understand the need to make as much as possible in as little time possible. But at the same time, he's hardly set the league alight in the last few years, and should probably just settle down somewhere. I wouldn't want him anywhere near my club personally, but he is someone that could come in and be an x-factor if played correctly. Well said. I think there is more downside than up in signing him. Agree. I also feel like our focus needs to be on bringing in someone to score more goals. Not overly confident with either DWH or MacDonald leading the line for the entire season. Yep, we will need some goals from someone other than the ones you've named. The AFC player they’re supposed to be chasing is meant to be a forward. But there’s a difference between a “forward” and a “goal scorer”.
DWH will have to step up if not Absolutely!! And as someone else indicated a goal scorer is more what we need than a iffy player like Troisi. Guys spend the money in the right places. Scotty Mac is great but we need a striker!!!

DWH will have to step up if not I'm quite intrigued to see who it is tbh. I saw SBS do an article on potential SE-Asian signings recently, and whilst I disagreed with the players that they highlighted: there are players from the region [both SE-Asian nationals and the foreigners playing in the region] that would be capable of coming here and doing a good job. The problem: it all relies on clubs having a scouting network in place, and not just listening to an agent who's trying to line his own pockets. Do any A-League clubs have a legitimate scouting network in place? Melbourne City would I would imagine, but I'm not sure any other club would.

Troisi has always had his own perception of his value out of sync with the reality of his performances. On top of that, he appears to have been a divisive personality at his Australian clubs. Maybe Moon can get the best out of him.

+xNot too sure why all the angst against Troisi. Agree he does not have the character we want and that in itsel may be enough to exclude him from the team. I wouldn’t argue against that. However, Roar does get the best out of players and maybe, just maybe he could become quite effective. Would have risked him in the squad in a heart beat last season. I think you’re right on all of that. For me, it’s just the risk involved that’s all ...
