The advice from individual players wasn't that informative. Some of the Coerver tips were interesting though.

l liked the format and diagrams of the 8 Coerver skill drills.

At FFE we had great success with Drill 6 last night. We modified it. There was a suggestion in the mag to do it without the ball for a fitness exercise. This surprises me as it is already a fitness exercise with the ball.

Drill 4 is a decent file passing plus dribbling exercise. We modified file passing in another post on the FFE thread and we applied the same here to increase touches.

I would recommend this edition of 442 mag for coaches.

There are certainly some effective exercises (with modifications) from Coerver drills 1-8 I've taken onto the training track.

Players have gained great benefit.

How do you explain passive/limited pressure defending to an eight year old ? Is that realistic to an 8 year old ?
Where is the good will compensation gesture that Coerver promised and have never delivered in 2009 ?
New coaches get hung up on the silver bullet exercises.
Just a few issues i have with it.
Prefer Premier skills myself.

Fair point.

The youngest players we have at FFE are 10-11.
