was a decent game, Oakleigh will need to wait another year to rid itself of the chokeleigh tag....surpringly good crowd maybe 4,000? predominantly green gully backed.
Congrats to the South girls for winning the grand final in the curtain raiser:d

With Gully's recent form (7 clean sheets in the row, 6 wins and a draw in the last 7 games), I think Oakleigh have to score early to get a result - on your recent form, I'm not sure you can do that unless Hayden catches one 'just right'. I've got a feeling that it's either going to be 0-0 and extra time, or Gully will smash you. Probably true.

It is a bit steep, is that how much it cost last year? i havent been since 2006 and it was far cheaper.
The weather looks good for Saturday, 2000-2500 maybe? both teams dont have much support so it will need to be a good neutral turnout, apparently the ffv only cut 350 tickets for the preliminary final...not sure how much more you can expect for the gf.

Quote:Tassie exports loom large JULIUS ROSS | August 31, 2011 12.01am TWO of Tasmania's soccer exports could feature in the Victorian Premier League grand final this Saturday, after their respective clubs advanced to the season decider. Mathew Sanders, who played with Metro from 2001-3 and Glenorchy Knights from 2004-5 before signing with VPL outfit Green Gully in 2006, is almost certain to make an appearance. In his sixth season with Gully, Sanders scored the final goal in his side's 3-0 victory over Hume City two weekends ago in the major semi-final to earn a direct berth into this Saturday's final at AAMI Park. Sanders, 25, helped Gully to claim the minor premiership this season with a career best 11 goals and may taste grand final success for the second season running if it can repeat its 2010 grand final win. Last year Gully defeated Richmond, but will face Oakleigh Cannons in this season finale, which is home to former Tasmanian NTC program participant and Football Superstar contestant Jeremy Walker. It's going to be a great experience playing at AAMI Park, it should be a very interesting match given both teams are very strong at the back and like to play on the break, Sanders said. It is great that he has moved over to Victoria to make the next step. Walker, 17, was on the bench for the Cannons in their 4-2 penalty-shoot-out win over Hume in the preliminary final on the weekend. The youngster did not feature off the pine, but is in with every chance of making an appearance in the final, given he has been selected in the senior squad for this weekend. Walker signed with Cannons earlier this year for exposure in the VPL with a view to earning an A-League youth contract. Sanders Gully is likely to enter the match as favourite to seal back-to-back titles, considering it has had a week's rest. But Walker's Cannons will be looking for revenge after they missed out on the minor premiership on goal difference. http://www.themercury.com.au/article/2011/08/31/257771_soccer.html
