Fantastic, this should make the A league season even more interesting. I looking forward to seeing him play AL even though I'm a SFC supporter.

no one has signed Erol Iba
That's because after he was approached by SFC, Persik offered him a more lucrative offer, that SFC couldn't match.

stiflers mom, i think that a-league clubs are very limited in their scouting. there are alot of hidden gems right on our doorstep and being a part of the AFC, i don't understand it either? i would like to see an influx or at least some more interest generated towards bringing in quality players from asia, the middle east and africa. unfortunately the only 2 places clubs are looking at is brazil and 2nd tier english leagues...

About time coaches have discovered you don't need to go on a three month tour of Brazil to try and snab a gem. There are gems in alot of the asian teams and for countries like vietnam we could pick them up cheap. I can't remember the guys name but I remember a thai player they were calling the thai beckam. He seemed pretty good but rather than signing him A-league coaches choose to buy Brazilian lemons.

If he does get signed it could turn out to be the best signing ever, better than fred even. Could also score free kicks to which we all desire.

A big statement, then again you have nothing to lose.

Maybe not as good as Fred though, then again?

I saw him at himdmarsh and unlike a lot of forwards he was dropping back into the mid when he wasnt getting passes to create something for his team. I think he would fit in well as Bruce is almost certain to leave before next season leaving only one striker (Agostino) if he get fits and stays fit and injury free.

And hes an athlete too, if he wasnt playing for football he could probably fit into many other sports. A beast, i really hope he does come.

I sat on the wing and watched Philani closely. He was double teamed regularly by our boys and almost got through with some great moves. A couple that did come off were limited by his teammates. Totally agree though with good service he will be dangerous.

Is he actually considered a free-kick specialist? I haven't been following the ACL.

yea - unlike their other free kick specialist (cassio)I've actually seen him score a free kick....in that first ACL game between them...thought he looked good that night in a weak team and didn't really see the return leg....think this could be a great signing

Viddy had previously denied interest while Philani quite vocal about comming to the A-League so he could 1. use it as a gateway to Europe and 2. Gain notice from selectors for 2010. He felt he would not be seen in vietnam.. I have to agree with him.

Wasn't that impressed with him from what i saw in the match the other day...although Adelaide did play them off the park and he probably lacked decent oppurtunities with the service he was getting from a vastly outclassed Bingh Dong (spelling?) midfield.
