Mamacas waives $400,000 loan

GEORGE Mamacas, president of Olympia Warriors, made an incredible announcement at the club's presentation dinner on Saturday night.

Mamacas had loaned his club $400,000 last year to construct an artificial AstroTurf and establish a home ground in North Warrane -- Warriors Park -- but in front of 400 guests the president declared he and wife Michelle would waive the club's loan.

The significant contribution illustrates the passion and commitment of Mamacas, a life-long supporter of Olympia, to his club.
