yer i will agree with you on that one, he did say that at the time of ron smith and alan vest.
however he has played for the socceroo's, went to the olypics, played at 21's and 17's championship for aus and he would be a great pick up for any a league club.
if he wasn't at partick thisle (scotish league) in 2004, wigan and two other english clubs tried to sign him after the olympics and he could have had a successful career.

Assuming what you say is true, it should be interesting to see how professional he thinks Mitchell is as opposed to Smith.

every year he trains with glory pre season, before he leaves due to the lack professionalism. Dont get me wrong i would like him to play in australia, but when u watch glory train, sometimes they are terrible.

he doesn't play state league he plays third devison in italy which is aleague level or better!

newcastle weren't the only a league team interested, glory have been after him every year he comes back for holidays and his birthday in july, and considering he will be back in 3 weeks after the serie C2 playoff's, unless portoguare get promoted i think he will sign in australia.
adelaide where also interested in signing him and he would be starting weeke in week out if he went there.

a mth ago I would have agreed with this...but the newcastle herald stated last week that it is no longer on the cards and that madaschi wants to stay in italy....con probably offered him 'the lifestyle' and peanuts rather than actually offering money like he's doing with everyone else.
