I love that HBO had enough faith in the talent of Terrence Winter and obviously Scorsese as producer to invest so heavily into in the series, as it really pays off with the incredible amount of money and work that goes into producing the settings.

I got bored with Boardwalk. I got about half way through season 1 before I stopped watching.
Loving Parks and Rec though, I came in on SBS2 around half way into season 2 and am loving it! Such great humour and great casting. I rate it up there with Arrested development and seasons 1,2,3 of Community

rocknerd wrote:Anyone enjoying Marvel's agents of S.H.I.E.L.D? I've watched eps one and two and whilst they are visually good (great CGI to look like their where they say they are) I just think the story line has been done before, there doesn't seem to be any originality in what they're doing.
I did love Samuel L Jacksons cameo at the end of ep 2 though! Been watching it purely because I am a Marvel and comic fan, but like you say, the story almost seems like its been done before. I don't like Colsons character, far tooo serious for my liking and he doesn't play the character too well. Apart from that, it has potential, just needs to be done properly.

Speaking of SHIELD. Seems Marvel is going all out on the TV front. They've signed a deal with Netflix to produce 4 seperate live-action tv series. Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones. These four series, starting with Daredevil in 2015, will then lead into a team up miniseries called The Defenders http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/11/07/daredevil-luke-cage-iron-fist-jessica-jones-tv-series-coming-to-netflix-leading-into-the-defenders-miniseries

Finished Uni on Friday, so I decided to crack into The Walking Dead S1 which I bought pre-semester, but never got around to watching it. I'm not really into Zombie films, but wow. Absolutely brilliant. Andrew Lincoln is brilliant in playing Rick, he seems to play the role naturally. Was awesome seeing Lennie James in the opening episodes as Morgan Jones. Really hope we see him in later on seasons (perhaps Rick and the survivors find him). I like, but at the same time dislike how you don't find out if he manages to go through with
killing his wife
. I get the feeling we'll see him in future seasons, you can't kill off the first normal person Rick encounters without showing it. He's probably one of my favorite black small screen actors. Been awesome in a lot of TV shows. Definitely get round to getting season 2 and 3 in the coming weeks. :) Edited by Heineken: 11/11/2013 09:49:18 PM

I've been watching Arrow lately. It's pretty good so far I would rank it on par with something like Agents of Shield. I think it has great potential and I think it will get better as the story progresses (I'm mid way through season 1)

Just on the new season of the walking dead.
Am I only one who thinks that Rick telling Carol to leave is a little BS. In a way she was right, the two who were sick were threats. I mean Rick in the past has eliminated threats as well with Shane, the bar scene and the Governor, yea these were a little more self defense. However he was very close to killing that kid from the bar shootout. I just think in their world what Carol did wasn't that much worse than whats happened in the past.
I also don't feel like Carol would simply drive off and leave those two girls and Daryl behind.
Carol killing the sick behind his back undermines his authority and she becomes a risk to his position so she has to go.
Shows I am currently watching that I am REALLY enjoying are;
Agents of Shield. The Black List (The last few episodes have been great) Persons of Interest The Tomorrow People (it's okay, I just watch it as it's another thing to watch really I have so much spare time) Atlantis (BBC Show). It's okay, the CGI can be pretty bad lol. But, I enjoy it. Then again, I am just a BBC fan boy (Love Doctor Who, Sherlock, Merlin) WHICH May I point out, this is written by the writers of Merlin.
Yeah the Hershel thing has been bugging me too. I can't believe they found a false leg that was a perfect fit to his mangled stump! I think the whole Carroll thing is more, a trust situation and Rick trying to save her. Like Shane Rick can no longer trust someone who constantly takes matters into her own hands without thinking of the consequences, also Tyrone would rip her apart. The reintroduction of the Guvnor is timely, I think we'll get a hold off on the Rick and Daryl showdown and a Guvnor centric episode showing what he's been doing since he left. Including sending all the Walkers toward the prison!
Really enjoying this season, even my wife is getting into it and asking lots of zombie questions.

Anyone here watch Supernatural? Still amazed that show has made it 9 seasons and doesn't look like slowing down. Credit to the writers being able to keep it fresh and still surprise after this long.

The introduction on the Men of Letters is interesting though, This is a story line im interested in since the end of season 5. I've only seen eps 1-3 so far but really happy with it. Season 7 has been the weakest though.

Season two is the best season of SOA imo, I actually liked three but I understand why most didn't, four is great too but I absolutely hated season five, it had moments of absolutely cringe worthy soap opera type stuff, six has been an improvement though.
