Hannibal is not the most pleasant viewing experience

Not when its first thing to watch in the morning :-k

Also, its stylistically shot in a way where everything looks super grey and unappealing

There was a show that aired for 6 episodes on sbs at the start of the year that was produced by Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein both producers of Breaking Bad, the show is called Rectify, its unlike any tv show I've ever seen. Even more so than True Detective.

There is even a sense of Terence Malick The Tree of Life about the series the way it looks

And its shot in Georgia, the same state which the tv adaptation of the Walking Dead is shot

There is one hour left of How I Met Your Mother, and then it's gone for good.

Granted, the recent seasons haven't been as strong as the earlier ones, but they've still had some great moments, it's still funnier than most sitcoms and it will always be one of my favourite shows. Gonna be an incredibly emotional final hour next Tuesday, especially if
the theories about the mother being dead are true
. Really going to miss this show :(

So Jimmy Fallon has been a massive success on The Tonight Show. Been getting great ratings but I dont think it's the massive game changer for late night tv that some think, because not many people could do what he does. He gets a-list celebrities to do segments they just wouldn't do if he wasn't the host. Plus he has The Roots as his house band ffs.

HIMYM
Nope nope nope. Even though all the hints were there and we barely knew the character, was still so sad to know that she died. Everything else was kinda expected thgough, except for Robin/Ted. People might claim it was a cop out but I think it was always how the series was going to end. They both had achieved what they wanted. Ted (married+kids) and Robin (no kids/career) so once all of those things fell in place idk. I thought the whole finale was good and very HIMIYM'y. Enjoyed it as much as Scrubs.

They've spent the whole series showing how Ted+Robin aren't right for each other and convinced everyone Barney+Robin were. It's a slap in the face to Ted's journey and constant heartaches, and the Mother. The ending was clearly written around season 2 when Ted and Robin were together, but since the show and characters have grown and moved on, and it went against 9 years of character development. So disappointed.
HIMYM
I didn't like the way Barney and Robin ended. They built up Barney over the past 2 seasons to have really matured and the two of them were perfect together, all that character development was thrown away in about 20 minutes. Also we never got to see who the mother of Barney's child is, just number 31?
I don't like the way it ended, it kind of always led up to this perfect moment and perfect women and happy endings for all but it just didn't happen the way most expected. I was wondering why they kept stretching out the Ted/Robin thing over the final season, with the locket and everything, it makes more sense now.

I don't think it goes against the character development at all. Up until what 3 episodes ago Ted was still in love with Robin and there were hints all through Barney's+Robins relationship that Robin thought Ted was the person she should end up with, but Ted was too noble/foolish to tell her this. I thought it was incredibly realistic that Barney/Robin split up it was a relationship that was never going to work once real life instead of sitcom logic came into play. As for a slap in the face to the mother, you have to remember that Ted wasn't Tracy's first choice either. She was married and unfortunately he died, and she moved onto Ted, had kids and they both enjoyed what they had, until she died and Ted moved on. It's definitely not a fairytale ending when you look at it in the scope of the actual show I think it was an appropriate one.

Personally I would have liked to see the show end at the train station, but if they were going to go down the Mother dying route I'm at least happy that Ted/Robin are together which I thought was going to happen from the start of the season anyway.

I wouldn't have minded if the mother had of died and Barney+Robin broke up and left it there if they wanted to go into the future, but idk it just annoys me that they got Ted+Robin back together after spending so many years showing how they're not good together (despite Ted's constant desire for her).

I think the rushed nature of this happening in contrast to the drawn out build up of Ted finding his wife and Barney+Robin just felt a little unbalanced and unfair imo.

Idk, I always think finales should wrap everything up in a nice little package to kind of end 9 years on a positive note. I didn't get that from this episode.

I'm gonna watch it again tomorrow when i get the chance. I was in the crowd of 'I don't want Robin and Ted to end up together', I wasn't happy with the way they never revealed the name of 'Number 31', I could understand why Barney and Robin didn't work out but at the same time wondered why they'd base a whole series around their wedding if they were just going to throw it away an episode later.

The Mother's death was horrible, but I could see it coming. Cristin Millotti was perfect for the role, it takes a talented actress to make someone fall in love with a character in such a small space of time, and she was perfect for Ted. Not gonna lie, I cried when they showed the pictures of her towards the end.

Having said all this, i still enjoyed it. Not as good as the Scrubs finale, but the callbacks were great (the cockamouse ), I loved the references, there were some incredibly beautiful scenes in between all this and I think over time, the finale will come to be loved by many people who now hate it. I didn't really enjoy the ending and I felt the writers should have changed it (they wrote the ending back in season 1) to suit how the character shave progressed, but it was still a fitting final episode.

I'm really gonna fucking miss this show
