One frightening scenario in Victoria is that 6 000 players were turned away from playing the game due to lack of grounds. Yet Victorian elite teams had plenty of choice.

There is an opinion that there is to much emphasis on elite teams in Victoria and elsewhere.

Apparently 40% of FFA income is spent on the national teams from under 17s upwards. If they are developmental, as Berger contends in 442 , why do they cost so much money?

In the document it also alludes to FFA ignoring grass roots players who often end up as coaches, administrators and referees.
