Quote:
Manly United FC 30 28 16 74
APIA Leichhardt Tigers 55 16 0 71
Blacktown Spartans 35 26 6 67
Parramatta FC 25 12 13 50

Manly and APIA are not out of the woods on the overall club championship but their first grade squads should pull results more frequently than the two below them. Melita is already a full round behind Spartans on the ladder.

In the Super League, Northern Tigers, who do not want to get promoted, are leading for now. They are 4 points ahead of Macarthur and have both played 10 games. Bankstown City are 5 behind Tigers, with a game in hand against last placed St. George, and are playing extremely impressive football having won their last 8 games in both the Cup and Super League. Bankstown won only 1 of their first 4 games giving an immediate buffer to Tigers and Macarthur - who are both still undefeated but drawing a lot of games without conceding many goals. Bankstown most definitely are aiming to return to the Premier League after their U/20's dismal winless season saw them relegated last year. Macarthur also want to get promoted. If Northern Tigers do hold on however, Melita/Spartans may be spared from relegation.

After good starts, both Fraser Park and Berries have fallen away from the equation for now.

Definitely not over by any stretch. even parra at the bottom, theyre less than one decent round away from climbing above the spartans given the points you an accumulate across all 3 grades (albeit weighted heavily in favour of first grade).

nobody in the bottom half of the club championship is safe so all to play for.

Spartans had a decent start to the season, or so I thought. They've barnstomed through the cup in the last couple years at the least.

Wouldn't mind seeing Macarthur back in the A-League. The opening friendly Sydney played against them last year, they actually put in a excellent 90 minutes and from all reports were unlucky to not get a win against us.

WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

They've finally pulled their finger out and decide to show highlights of every game. They used to just pick the "Match of the Round".

Al the A-League clubs play the friendlies at the SL clubs home grounds. It's good for them, they get a decent mid-week crowd in, a bit extra revenue, good football, everybody wins.

Well no excuses for Spartans this weekend. They have been out watering and mowing the synthetic pitch for the upcoming Sydney United game this weekend

when did women start getting abused?

the only people copping it were players on the pitch, no one abused anyone in the stands!!!

One of your crew was metres away from Galbraith (APIA No.9), ran to the fence and screamed as loud as he could "I am going to phucken rape your mother".

In fairness, a few of your guys told him to shut it but still not good enough.

That players mother heard it!

just back to the football, i couldnt help but wonder what was the spartans coach thnking in his post game comments when he had a go at the pitch for the way his team played. the spartans effort against us was the worst ive seen from any visiting team since we came back up to the PL. they were terrible and we should of put away a lot more than 4 goals. id be more worried about that than playing onf ields not as even as their synthetic surface which would not have helped them they were that bad. anyway, theyve shown some resilience and i expect they will bounce back and improve next week.

When they loose, coaches always blame the pitch.

Easy way out.

Bomber Brown is the master of it.

Wait for his next loss, and he will blame the pitch. As does Sterrey.

He's lost once already. I don't think he blamed the pitch then.

Not this season, read the last few years of reports on the NSWPL website and you will see there is a pattern in his post match comment.

FFS you are playing in the NSWPL not the EPL.

In a few years time, the majority of the pitches will be synthetic anyway so no complaints then.

What has this to do with anything that I said, going to football game and coming to someone’s house?

Football in Australia is where it is Batfink, not because of handful of people swearing at the games and scaring women and children away from the game, your attitude is worse for the game than this people that carry on and I told you in my comment why is bad what you are doing. You do not financially support any club unless it is in your interest and now you admitted to support a club in year 300 BC and you will support Western Sydney in the future but financially you ignore present.

Also I described to you nicely about positive things that I saw in the game from both teams at the weekend. This is how I see the games and You and others do not.

We can all hold hands at the games and sing Christmas carols this will not make one bit of difference in the media, producing quality players will and clubs need money for that.

your defending their behaviour....simple......

i also said i agree with many of your comments......

i just don't think you need to vilify homosexuals and swear like that to show support to your team.....

also how would you know if i am a paid member or that i dont financially help any clubs???? do you have a deep understanding of my finances???? or support....

i can guarantee i have put more $$$$ into football in this country than your piss fart members fee.....whem you have sponsored clubs to the level i have then come spruiking your worth....

Sorry SUS, it much more manly and courageous to abuse players when they are playing and your with 20 of your mates?

How tough does that make you feel when D'Apuzzo is being stretchered off with a serious injury and one of your crew screams out "I hope your unborn child dies of AiDS"?

Or the very touch guy who said to Galbraith he wanted to rape his mother from metres away?

That is very tough isn't it?

Well on the crowd behaviour front I have attended all the Blacktown City home games except on mothers day and the crowd behaviour has been very good. Jovial and just supportive of their clubs.

On crowd behaviour I think the best atomsphere so far has been Sydney united and their drum banging supporter group. Top marks their fellas.

So I suppose at away games the problem supporters tend to stay at home which suits me fine. Can't say i've heard any loud swearing at City games.

On the BWEFC vs Parramatta match, whilst BWEFC controlled large parts of the game they couldn't entirely dominate.

Sterrey I don't think gave his side enough credit. Whilst they weren't all too dangerous, they did frustrate BWEFC.

The goal scored was lucky as Nash parried it into the path of Mitch Long who just bundled the ball over the line with his stomach. It was Nash's only slip-up the whole game.

Bonnyrigg created many goalscoring chances, however Nash kept Parramatta in the game.

Still, I'll take the win and the clean sheet.

To be fair, a few teams that have come to Bonnyrigg seem to be (rightfully) intimidated this season. Spartans, Sutherland, Parramatta and I think also Manly were outgunned easily in games at Bonnyrigg.

You support Parra because your son is there, why don’t you do the right thing and pay membership at your club? Clubs are about community and they need money to run, some of that money comes from sponsors and members.

On the subject of BWE supporters (do not call them ultras, please) singing and abusing your team, there is two ways of getting back at them:
1st/ Win the game
2nd/ Bring your supporters and sing louder

Now this is what really happened at the game.
I was there for the football game that I really like, I’m a member of my club and a season ticket holder, I played the game, coached and my son is also playing I also volunteer with many duties at my club. I agree with Sydney Croatia (never thought of saying this, please never mention it that we agree on something) that if my son played for the other club he’ll be my enemy for the 90min.

This is how I saw the day and this is my version of the event:
U18 Great game BWE v Parra 3:1

U20 Excellent game BWE v Parra 1:0 hard physical game, could have gone the other way, really sorry for D Han hurting his shoulder and your defender that was stretched of (how is he?) he was brilliant in holding the defence, hope nothing serious.

1st grade: Great start from both teams BWE have all the possession and a couple of chances, Parra very disciplined and organised holding the shape, fast counter attack through the left and shot on goal. Parra’s away jersey is terrible to read the numbers, BWE have more chances through H Gaitatzis who passed 4 players to have a shot but the goalkeeper is excellent. BWE got the brake from a free kick and keeper dropped the ball in the path of M Long who scored, ten minutes later A Canak pinched the ball from the left defender passed it back to H Gaitatzis who tried to chip the keeper from about 35 meters and full credit to the keeper’s brilliant save.
Both teams played great considering they played mid week and appeared tired. What is up with this Waratah Cup, what is the hurry? Another game mid week this Wednesday.
BWE had all the possession, more corners, more shots on goal and 1:0 never looked safe as Parra did look capable of equalising.

Batfink did you coach you number 3 who had two foul throws?

Crowd about 500, cevapis great!

That was a great day to enjoy football if you know how to appreciate the game, otherwise be a typical Aussie reporter who on the news brings you the riots footage but forgets to mention the result. Saturday lunch time on 2UE I heard that Australia played Croatia and lost 3:1 only to find out later that Croatia played Estonia.

I agree with lot of your comments....don't have a problem with the result, as sterry said we were flat and played about 40% below the previous 3- 4 games......BWE deserved the win. i never questioned that.....my complaint was about these supporters groups or ultras as they like to be known as these days chanting filth.....

happy for them to chant at the games as loud as they like but keep it civil........

most people are broad minded enough to accept the odd expletive here and there....that's fine we are all adults, but when large groups start chanting at high volume with words in the chant like, fuck, faggott etc there is no escaping it, it is intended to cause offence and hostility, which is something our game can well do without......and by all accounts its has occurred at the APIA vs UNITED game as well.....not good enough and clubs should be banning these morons from coming to the games if they cant behave like civil human beings.......i pay $15 to go and watch a football game with my wife and daughter, not to sit there and listen to chants full of filth.....so you think its acceptable for wives and daughters to have to listen to that?????

as far as supporting clubs i have done so for years until FNSW decided in their wisdom to make Penrith panthers merge with Nepean thus ending my team, i was a sponsor, a committee member and a supporter of the club for years and years.....now my new team will be western sydney wanderers....

and Football in Australia is where it is because of people like you Batfink!

They are kids. They will learn as they get older. You do realise they are kids? People sing, swear and chant for 90 minutes and then go home. That's it. You are taking it to heart too much.

You think they dont hear that language everywhere else?

It's football... you cant go to the football not expecting to hear bad language

Wrong.....it's not football.....its a bunch of rednecks with no respect for anyone else.....hooligan behaviour...the worst you get at rugby league is a chant from the crowd calling the ref a wanker.......

sorry people like you are the reason football is in the state its in.....last night the crowd was just about all male, because women dont feel comfortable there, and fathers dont want their daughters subjected to abusive language and behaviour.....thats why your team and bonnyrig cant even play a game in public.....disgrace.....

Who says women aren't comfortable at Bonnyrigg? Who is abusing daughters? Did you have a bad experience on Saturday night? Were you being singled out? Unless they were specifically targetting you, the fan in the crowd, I'm pretty sure they were singing about your team, that's it. Same thing you would experience at any professional soccer game, in the AL or in Europe.

I would love to see every team have a group of hardcore supporters who just sing and chant but the fact of the matter is there isn't.

The boys supporting Bonnyrigg aren't looking for trouble. They just sing and chant. Yes, there's swearing. But don't forget The Cove have a few songs and chants with F-bombs.

BWEFC, SOFC and SU have supporters who love their club. Despite troubled histories in particular matches, supporters stick with their club through thick and thin.

If you want to argue a point about rugby league fans, go and spend your weekends watching them.

Get over it. If you dont like the language used then dont sit near them.

doesnt matter where you sit you can hear it all over the ground......and it's inappropriate for wives and daughters to be subjected to that language....

as far as the match reports, they are suppose to represent the whole match, not just one team.........so the reader can get a picture of how the game played out, well below last years reports....

You're at a sporting event. What sporting event have you ever gone to where there hasn't been foul language?

If you want fine dining and proper, polite language, go and watch a polo game with Prince Charles.

Why BWE? To sign Younis, who has already failed at Aleague level.

Better off scouting all the clubs to find the best youngsters.

I can quicky think off a few from Demons and Parra FC worth a gig.

David Vrankovic is playing himself into an A-League contract and it would be a gross injustice if he is not picked up by any AL club as he has played superbly thus far. He is by far BWE's form player.

Ken Chun is also worthy of an AL contract. Very gifted midfielder, pulling the strings in midfield. Has the ball on a string.

Ditto Mitchell Long, Alex Mansuetto and Robbie Younis. All have played well and deserve to be looked at by AL clubs so far this season.

I agree with lot of your comments....don't have a problem with the result, as sterry said we were flat and played about 40% below the previous 3- 4 games......BWE deserved the win. i never questioned that.....my complaint was about these supporters groups or ultras as they like to be known as these days chanting filth.....

happy for them to chant at the games as loud as they like but keep it civil........

most people are broad minded enough to accept the odd expletive here and there....that's fine we are all adults, but when large groups start chanting at high volume with words in the chant like, fuck, faggott etc there is no escaping it, it is intended to cause offence and hostility, which is something our game can well do without......and by all accounts its has occurred at the APIA vs UNITED game as well.....not good enough and clubs should be banning these morons from coming to the games if they cant behave like civil human beings.......i pay $15 to go and watch a football game with my wife and daughter, not to sit there and listen to chants full of filth.....so you think its acceptable for wives and daughters to have to listen to that?????

as far as supporting clubs i have done so for years until FNSW decided in their wisdom to make Penrith panthers merge with Nepean thus ending my team, i was a sponsor, a committee member and a supporter of the club for years and years.....now my new team will be western sydney wanderers....

interesting to see how old boy kolner comes in for a brag session....good on him...well over due.....

well given you asked for it, here i am and yes im very happy. thats 10 points from our last 4 games and it should of been 12. not a bad start at all for rudes! we dominated and then switched off. still should of got another one at the end. mcallister came off the bench.

the young kid alex scored again which is good to see. the team is playing really well and thats without our best player sash tiroski who is injured. good to know we have somedepth across the park as well.

im spewing because we should of beaten blacktown, sutho and wolves earlier in the season and we would be flying high. never mind, im much happier now than i was 4 weeks ago thats for sure.

agree re spartans not ebing able to play away from their synthetic. no point whinging about it either.

should be a great game sat night against marconi. will not be easy.

you will beat Marconi......good to see you happy again...LOL...:-"
