penrithparty wrote:Brilliant list. Maybe Poppa should run a 40 man trialist camp before he signs anybody. Kwabi is only signed for CCM NYL - was shocked that Arnie didn't give him a proper contract last season. Maybe he can get out of the NYL gig if WSW offers him a real employment opportunity?
Would add Gaitatzis (BWE) and Bevin (APIA) to the list for Poppa, plus Harry Brown and Dolor Edosomwan from Blacktown City's U20 for the NYL squad. And plenty more I can think of. There is no shortage of talent that's for sure. Will be interesting to see what the future holds. But with 5 months to get it all happening I don't have a lot of faith in rushed decisions. Just my personal opinionKabsy is loyal trooper and has been given first team experience for mariners pre-season, I don't know what type of contract Kabs is on but Arnie will fight tooth and nail to keep him at the mariners. I think Kabs will stick with mariners and Arnold because Arnie recognised Kabs and gave him his first break in NYL and saw Kabs talent when no other team showed interest. Arnie is a shrewd judge and a great coach for developing players. Popovic has been overseas and hasn't been in touch with the youth talent or NSWPL sides for years and 5 months to get re-acquainted isn't long enough to get a thorough handle on things. Also when you consider Milicic is in the same boat being in melbourne for a few years they are both flying blind with respect to West Sydney talent. Anyways we shall see what comes. I just hope my greatest fears don't become reality with respect to the WS team. It's been too rushed already. Edited by Aussiesrus: 24/5/2012 01:53:31 PM

Milicic might have been down in Melbourne but I very much doubt that he's completely out of the loop

He has a 4 year contract and a pretty decent wage I'd imagine... I'd say the only balls on the table are the FFA's
Tezza is up here a lot. He was only coaching/playing in the league 3 years ago so he'd know quite a bit about some of the established players.
He'd know enough about who to look out for as well. Goes for Popa too... he spends a lot of time at United matches, even before the appointment

Better off scouting all the clubs to find the best youngsters.
I can quicky think off a few from Demons and Parra FC worth a gig. =d> =d> me too..... glad to see someone who can see a footballer on their merits rather than, " if he was any good he would be playing for a better club" mentality....well done, i'm with you=d> =d> So who from Parra FC in your opinion? there are a few.....some have played professionally before and are still very young....however i would prefer to discuss via PM, because soon as you start naming player here the critisism will start and i dont think its fair on these young players ....plenty of them come in here for a look..... Batfink the first thing you need to teach your son is that internet forums are full of fucking grade A morons and haters (present company excluded of course). I can't believe players take any of the stuff written here seriously. The last dozen or so posts in this thread have been a decent read but most threads tend to degenerate after being sidetracked by a troll or just turn into a dick measuring contest. I kind of follow your story as I have a young bloke in an academy side and am quite interested to see how your son ends up or what his next move will be. I quite like that all these fringe players are getting gigs at smaller leagues in asia. It reminds me of all my league mates that didn't get graded going to france and england to play in a semi professional setup. They still got to do what they loved just for less money and they got to see different parts of the world as well.

This is where he would be looking for NYL players for the upcoming season. 3 Years in the first grade ranks can also be quite a large change. Edited by Aussiesrus: 24/5/2012 08:10:21 PM

Yep certainly was big results for City and Olympic. Parra didn't too bad considering the bonnyrigg homeground advantage. Another win for Parra looks not too far away.
Sydney United V APIA game will be cracker as both teams looking to pull away from each other. Both on 11 points mid table. Should be a big crowd. "What's it like to have a crowd have a crowd" Boom boom boom. LOL, had to throw that in ;)
Manly V Marconi at Manly. I think Marconi will come out on top despite Manly homeground advantage.
Rockdale V Spartans will be a pretty even match but I think given spartans can't play on grass Rockdale will take the points.

once again the match report doesnt go anywhere near accurate......every report for every team is slanted towards the home team or eventual winners....... Only thing accurate was that parra were below par about 40% below previous games......not sure why.....also interesting to note that these ultras or supporters groups are allowed to use the worst language out and its acceptable....we had 2 jananese exchange student with us and the Bonnyrig ultras were chanting "fuck parra fuck you, fuck Parra fuck you" and when we took corners they chanted "para are faggots, parra are faggots" never going to get football in this country popluar with behaviour like that, how can you attract families....and i had my 14 y/o daughter and wife with me......really pathetic.....

and lol @ "every match report is slanted towards the home side or the eventual winners"
Have you ever wondered why that is? Maybe because the match was slanted towards the home side or the eventual WINNERS?
Anyone who reads this forum would think that Parra dominate every single game and are extremely unlucky due to refs/poor finishing/the alignment of the planets
Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, they've been on the bottom for two years in a row because, like, they're just not that good? Crazy thought.

doesnt matter where you sit you can hear it all over the ground......and it's inappropriate for wives and daughters to be subjected to that language.... as far as the match reports, they are suppose to represent the whole match, not just one team.........so the reader can get a picture of how the game played out, well below last years reports....

I had that tune stuck in my head for hours after the game. Something to do with having it drummed in I suppose LOL.. Batfink, I haven't read a match report of the Parra game, so settle ol boy. I'm just going by the scoreline which indicates a 1-0 loss to bonnyrigg at bonnyrigg is a pretty good result considering bonnyrigg have been pumping everyone, well mostly everyone by 2-3 goals this season. Doesn't help the points but it's not a bad result for GD. Edited by Aussiesrus: 27/5/2012 12:21:56 PM

Yep, football is fucked in Australia because a few kids swear at a state league game
Funny how the clubs with these types of fans still tend to get bigger crowds than those without 'foul' language

Funny how the clubs with these types of fans still tend to get bigger crowds than those without 'foul' language not to concerned about crowd size, i only support parra because my son plays there....simple.... and you could double or triple your crowd size if you brought along your wife girlfriend or daughters and sons, it is about watching the game, win lose or draw it's about football......if the opposition score a great goal or their keeper pulls off a great save it should be applauded....no foul language, no booing or aggressive behaviour......... you seem only interested in who wins, who has the biggest crowd or who is the best club......football is way bigger than that..... when you beat a team you love to rub there nose in it....but when you lose you hate it if they do the same to you.....childish immature behaviour...... ](*,) ](*,) will you support the new western sydney wanderers???? and attend their games???????

Anyone know why the Manly-Marconi game was postponed?
Rockdale up 3-0 against Spartans, they were 2-0 up after 5 and 3 up after 20. 5 mins till HT
United up 1-0 against APIA, Ivo Bosnar with the goal. 10 mins till HT
