Batfink,
According to his post match report it will be players getting the golden handshake...
With no further addition to the score, at the final whistle a disgruntled Eagles coach Lee Sterrey commented:
“We went into the game knowing we had to lift our intensity, against Bonnyrigg we slipped off the pace with intensity and passion but we had some enormous performances here in the Cup and against Marconi and we were really on the upward scale and going really well. “We dropped 20 or 30-percent against Bonnyrigg and knew we had to lift and to take a goal like we did in the first 2’ minutes when there is two against one at the corner flag and Edwards manages to get a cross in and the blokes in the box still don’t mark their players and allow them an easy tap in is suicidal. ”The second goal was just as bad when from a corner the player is allowed to peel off to the far post because we are not showing enough aggression in getting to the ball inside the box. “And two goals let in from crossing situations where the defenders are not picking up their players at any level is asking for trouble.” Left to chase the game it looked different after the equaliser: “When we got back to one-all I thought we were a chance, we’re back in the game. “I thought we competed reasonably well although at about 75% of what we can be in passion and desire but the schoolboy errors on the goals are just shocking and it cost us tonight.”
Although a young squad has been assembled at the Eagles, does it mean changes in the future: “The front third in execution is lacking, the final ball option is the wrong one on many occasions and you know how young and naive your team is in this league overall but it’s that time year with the window of registration open and if I have to give a few handshakes then so be it. “I don’t want to as I really believe in what we’ve assembled here at the club, some good young kids and experienced players but everything comes into question. “I’ve shown my support for them right through, given them the opportunity but they have to take that and rise to the challenge and senior standards set so we may have to look at bringing new faces into the club.”

That list of top goalscorers is totally inaccurate..Ultimates is much better.. ralerasic wrote:Yep Batfink I hear Franco Cossie from Marconi 20s is on his way over to help Sterey.
Possibly the second most hated man in the NSWPL after Sterey and without a doubt has as many tracksuits as him.
Not a good move for Parra, and if they think he is the messiah they have another thing coming. Marconi 20's were top of the table early and are now 8th...So I think you have some merit there ralerasic.. Edited by Aussiesrus: 4/6/2012 11:45:15 AM

Batfink,
If what realrasic is saying is correct it appears a silly move by Parra FC. You blokes should be either recruiting high calibre experienced players or a coach that has a habit of moving teams up the table.
All this so called development will amount to nothing if Parra FC finish bottom and become relegated back to super league. Currently Parra FC are on the bottom of the club championship table by 22 points and their first grade side will need to pull some rabbits out of their hats. Their 20's will not save them this year.
Coaches do have a habit of using the word "development" when they do not have the skills to do the business.

LOL....... the full circle has spun.....LOL

It's an interesting season Certainly is interesting. Mid table has become so congested at the halfway mark. 3.02 either means teams are playing a more attacking style of football or the defence isn't as good as previous seasons. Depends how you look at it. It is also interesting to see the spread of players scoring opposed to standout players scoring with respect to the teams place on the table. We can see target men and also balanced attacking styles. Younis is on fire but helped greatly by 4 penalties added to his tally. Kwabena Appiah is impressive considering he didn't start playing until round 3 or 4 and at the time was still recovering from an injury and no penalties taken. 2nd half of the season looming and the business end so to speak will be most interesting. Olympic v BWE 1:1
This game due to the pitch condition should have not gone ahead and I do not think that Belmore surface will recover till the end of the season after what happened here on the weekend. Referee made another blunder by allowing BWE to play in their away white jersey as Olympic is half white/blue. Game was awful due to the playing surface. BWE had plenty of chances to win the game, but congratulation to SO on snatching the point.
Where have all the SO fans gone? Crowd was around 200 and most of them were BWE supporters.
Big game on the weekend against Blacktown Demons, I hope the midweek Cup game gets cancelled as having Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday game is just too much for players in the State League

Most people have given up on the NSWPL, save for the hardcore fans. Further most clubs "lie" when it comes to ground attendances and you would be lucky if even one club pulls over 500 to a match. Edited by ralerasic: 5/6/2012 02:43:49 PM

Great photo Heineken, see what I meant about the jerseys.
Mitchell Long BWE player in the photo, worth the entrance fee on his own, what a performance, outrun the defence every time, most of the fouls were committed against him and in the first half should have had a penalty awarded for a foul inside the box only for the ref to see it outside the box, from which free kick he smashed the crossbar.
Ralerasic – I do not believe that most people have given up on NSW Premier League, BWE have increased their attendances (OK they also play very good football, at BWE more people are coming to see the youth also), goals scored per game in the league are up, we just need better promotion from FNSW, this is where our game future is. For e.g. better ground announcements at the games, tonight is CUP game night, many games played across town and not many people know about it.

our crowds at rockdale are up, and that includes when we had to play two home games at sutho. weve had some good attendances. bonno seem to get decent ruen outs. the concern for me is that clubs such as marconi, parra, spartans, apia have shocking attendances. where have the fans gone? anyway, wheres batfink. whats this i hear cossie to take the head coach gig and lee to become director of coaching? how is that going to be helpful, if it eventuates.

ITS always a tricky one. i mean, in relaity, if the club perceived that a change of coaching is a solution, then one would assume you would eliminate the coach completely as opposed to moving him elsewhere within the organisation. ive heard several players might be on the chopping block and other are looking around elsewhere. you never know, it may be the catalyst for a change in fortune because in most games you guys have been very competitive and unlucky. no easy games thats for sure. anyway wait and see.

Here's one view from a an ol goat like me still playing O45's and 2 sons playing 1 at Apia U12/1 - looking back compared to the ol days the club is a pale to what it once was (saddens me deeply), naturally $$$$ are the key amongst other things, many of the youth teams this season didn't get their playing strips till around round 4 ! what a joke, last season was better kit arrived 20mins before 1st game KOFF ! Now this puts you off - I can be more forgiving but I know manymany parents who just don't care anymore (some also just arn't football people) and this would be 1piece contributing over the years crowds dwindling - apart from the fact they haven't done well for a long time but for the die hards still turning up reliving the ol days. No promotion amongst the Jnr teams of the Prem team - heck wouldn't the kids love seeing some of the guys turn up at Algie Park training nights, this is what should happen today. As we know kids of today have much more going on so you need to get in their face and in turn they'll hassle Dad/Mum can we go to a PL game. When I was a jnr I aspired getting to the ol NSL games thanks to my Dad being a football lover we went but today I hardly have the time - between the 3 of us we have 4games to play over Sat/Sun hence I have endoctranated SYDFC (yes many of you can whinge) for we can make many of the games but importantly my son bitchs if I don't take him or that we can't make it, this has happened through me getting him to games, he gets up close and personal, gets signatures on his SYDFC/cap shirt etcetc - now this could all happen more for PL teams - though I'm speaking re Apia don't know what other PL teams do. Yes I know a Spartans game is on Sat night maybe just maybe I may turn up. Apia have a wonderful place imo Lambert Park they should work harder in their own backyard - imo its being neglected - they like all clubs have a captive audience their Jnr teams. So there you go from an ol footballing mad Dad at 51 still leaving his wife a weekend football widow LOL.......
Love Football

Batfink,
Word is 5 Parra FC players chopped. Marconi u/20 coach arrives and brought 3 players with him. But you already knew this. Can you name the new signings or you waiting for the green light from the dungeon :-k
2.02 Penalty? certainly debatable. Seen them given and not given.

Certainly was some terrible defending. Guess it answers the question why the goal amount is higher this year than previous years.
