The agent of Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists his client's proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain is far from complete.


Reports claim the Sweden international will join the Ligue 1 giants after Milan reportedly accepted PSG's offer of €65m (£51.5m) for Ibrahimovic and Brazil defender Thiago Silva.


Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola said to www.sportmediaset.it: "Is everything done with PSG? We are far away or, to put it better, we are as close [to agreeing terms] as America and China. Today I will meet [PSG sporting director] Leonardo. But PSG have to convince themselves that with Zlatan they are acquiring the best."


Ibrahimovic was Serie A's top scorer last season, netting 28 goals as the Rossoneri finished runners-up to Juventus.


The Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi was reported on Thursday as saying that a deal had been agreed. "Yes, I have sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG. We'll save €150m in two years," Berlusconi was quoted as saying on the website of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Liverpool have rejected Newcastle's bid to sign striker Andy Carroll on loan, with a view to a permanent move.

It is understood the approach falls way short of Liverpool's demands.

The Reds are reluctant to allow Carroll to leave on a temporary basis, despite manager Brendan Rodgers's admission that a loan move is an option.

Sources close to 23-year-old England striker Carroll maintain his preferred option is to remain at Anfield to try to prove himself to Rodgers.

If he does not fit into Rodgers's plans, with no club willing to offer Liverpool a significant portion of the £35m transfer fee they paid Newcastle United for Carroll in January 2011, the Reds may be forced into reluctantly settling for a short-term deal.

They may also have to cover the forward's £80,000 per week salary and agree a fee for any sale.

Liverpool fly to Canada on Monday to begin their pre-season tour of North America. Carroll, who is currently on an extended holiday after Euro 2012, is due to join up with the squad on 23 July.

West Ham co-owner David Gold has also said the Upton Park club would be interested in signing Carroll.

Carroll struggled with Liverpool until belatedly showing form and goals towards the end of last season.

The lure of Newcastle's approach cannot be underestimated for Carroll considering the success he enjoyed at his hometown club.

He helped the Magpies back into the Premier League with 17 league goals in the 2009-10 Championship season.

Carroll continued his promising form in the top-flight in the following campaign and made his senior England debut under Fabio Capello in a 2-1 defeat at Wembley by France.

He scored 11 times in 19 league games before becoming the most expensive British player when ex-Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish took him to Anfield.

Loving the Carroll situation also.

So in one offseason, Milan have lost Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Gattuso, Nesta, Inzaghi, Seedorf.

Of course the last 4 were old but still they've completely lost the identity of the club. Not going to sit well with the fans.

As for PSG, can give them the Ligue 1 title now.
