GDS was playing winger pre season but I havent seen him since then. Bentley doesn't seem to be the first choice there at the moment. Even though he's been one of their better teams. Lennon will leave sooner or later. But as for coming to Liverpool...I don't know. I don't know ho wmuch longer they'll have Gio for either.

Well then lets not spend any at all. Id rather 1 quality player than 3 squad players.

It's not like he has the big-game experience. But spending big money on a player like Lahm right now would be a waste of time given that he'd be cup-tied for the rest of the season.

However, as we have a grand total of zero left wingers in our squad, and that is Downings position, it's got nothing to do with Bentley. Another thing which seems to have evaded you is that a team is allowed more than 1 player in the same position in the squad. Modric doesn't play in the same position as either Giovani or Jenas, and seeing as we're in 4 competitions having two good players in the same position in Lennon and Bentley isn't that much of a problem.

Bentley isn't the kind of player that should be sitting on the bench. He should be playing first team football.
You're a spurs fan, so you obviously struggle to grasp the concept of only having 11 players on the pitch at once and given that you've got a keeper and four defenders that leaves 6 positions with Bentley, Modric, GDS, Jenas, Lennon, Bent, Pavlyuchenko, Huddlestone, O'Hara and even Boateng, that's 10 players for those 6 positions. And you know 'rotation' doesn't work.

I think its wrong to have two players who think theyre both first teamers competing for 1 starting position.

Am yet to see anything official linking us with a Defender, which furthers my belief that Gordon Strachan has no intentions of taking the club forward.

Strachan's happy to rest on his laurels and keep winning the SPL and not doing a lot else.
Mizuno isn't bad, and he's still fairly young, so he's got plenty of time to develop his ability.

Quote:Bentley isn't the kind of player that should be sitting on the bench. He should be playing first team football. If you watch Spurs play you'd know Bentley isn't playing well enough to deserve to start ahead of Lennon at the moment. I honestly can't beleive you see having two good right wingers as a bad thing? It's not like we're bringing another right winger either. Pavlyuchenko isn't registered in Europe, Bent is injured, and Boateng isn't in the first team plans. So now we have 7 players for 6 positions. What a fucking conundrum :-k

But he needs to get more game-time and show more of that ability that we've seen and branded as 'potential'. Quote:I wasn't aware Spurs often field 12 players. Keeper + 4 defenders + 6 attacking positions = 11. I wasn't aware you couldn't count. Sorry, next time I'll make it clearer for you. If spurs don't want one of Lennon or Bentley as a first-team player week in and week out, I'd happily have either at anfield for the rest of the season.

I said Bentley could move centrally, never mentioned anything about 12 players. I take it this argument is over, it normally is when you ignore all my correct points instead of attempting rebuttal.

It was a suggestion because you were bitching about not having Lennon and Bentley on the same team. All those players listed are completely different midfielders, not all central players can be pidgeon-holed into 'CM'. Dos Santos isn't even a midfielder for christ sakes, whats he got to do with anything? Stick to bleating on about Liverpool afro.

They all play somewhere in the middle of the park. There's only so many players you can fit in there. You can't have Bentley, Jenas, Zokora and Modric in the one team can you??

I think you definately need a left winger, O'hara is the closest thing you have to a LM and hes more a CM/DM. Filling up LM with Downing will mean the RM's (Lennon and Bentley) will either get 50% each of game time theyre getting now or 1 will be demoted to the bench. Either of those two wouldnt be happy starting on the bench for 90% of the games. I doubt either of them would be 'happy' starting 50% of the games either. Thats why they may aswell sell one of them.
Spurs are also likely to get a few pompey boys. Defoe looks very likely, Kaboul maybe, Crouch?, Krancjar. I think Krancjar would be great alongside Modric.

21.56 Harry Redknapp has quashed reports which have suggested he is ready to return to Portsmouth for David James. Harry insists he's only asked about Jermain Defoe.

He's too good to be a player who sits on the bench and neither him nor Lennon will be willing to accept that kind of role in the team. They're both more than worth of first team football and to have one or the other sitting on the bench is a complete and total waste. Even you should be able to see that Middlesbrough have rejected Stewart Downing's transfer request, with the winger looking to secure a move to Tottenham.Harry Redknapp has confirmed Stephen Appiah is training at white heart lane.
