You are a Liverpool supporter, so squad depth may be something that escapes you. However, as we have a grand total of zero left wingers in our squad, and that is Downings position, it's got nothing to do with Bentley.

Another thing which seems to have evaded you is that a team is allowed more than 1 player in the same position in the squad. Modric doesn't play in the same position as either Giovani or Jenas, and seeing as we're in 4 competitions having two good players in the same position in Lennon and Bentley isn't that much of a problem. :roll:

Bentley isn't the kind of player that should be sitting on the bench. He should be playing first team football.

You're a spurs fan, so you obviously struggle to grasp the concept of only having 11 players on the pitch at once and given that you've got a keeper and four defenders that leaves 6 positions with Bentley, Modric, GDS, Jenas, Lennon, Bent, Pavlyuchenko, Huddlestone, O'Hara and even Boateng, that's 10 players for those 6 positions. And you know 'rotation' doesn't work.

I think its wrong to have two players who think theyre both first teamers competing for 1 starting position.

Am yet to see anything official linking us with a Defender, which furthers my belief that Gordon Strachan has no intentions of taking the club forward.

Early reports said this window, but that's died down, so I'm not sure what's happening on that front. We've been giving Koki Mizuno some game time though, so methinks we're preparing for him to leave.

He scored a good goal on debut, but when I watched him in the Derby, he didnt impress me at all.

Strachan's happy to rest on his laurels and keep winning the SPL and not doing a lot else.

Mizuno isn't bad, and he's still fairly young, so he's got plenty of time to develop his ability.

If you watch Spurs play you'd know Bentley isn't playing well enough to deserve to start ahead of Lennon at the moment. I honestly can't beleive you see having two good right wingers as a bad thing? It's not like we're bringing another right winger either.

Moving Bentley into a central position is a waste of his ability. And a waste of the ability of the various central players they've already got in Modric, GDS, Zokora, Huddlestone, Jenas, why would you then have Bentley in the centre aswell??

I think you definately need a left winger, O'hara is the closest thing you have to a LM and hes more a CM/DM. Filling up LM with Downing will mean the RM's (Lennon and Bentley) will either get 50% each of game time theyre getting now or 1 will be demoted to the bench. Either of those two wouldnt be happy starting on the bench for 90% of the games. I doubt either of them would be 'happy' starting 50% of the games either. Thats why they may aswell sell one of them.

Spurs are also likely to get a few pompey boys. Defoe looks very likely, Kaboul maybe, Crouch?, Krancjar. I think Krancjar would be great alongside Modric.
