The Liberal Party, knowing that Abbott would cause them to lose the next election very badly, have replaced him with Turnbull as their leader, and hence as Prime Minister.

Turnbull told Abbott he wanted to challenge for the leadership. Abbott called a ballot tonight and Turnbull won. He is now the new prime minister. Pretty scary heh?

Even if we were to rely on the overly simplistic statement that the only policy that The Greens stand for is the environment (which is not true), then a vote for the environment is selfless by definition, as you get nothing tangible for it (aside from the fact that 99% of the time a Greens vote is practically meaningless anyway, as no one wins a seat to carry your wishes through).
