Labor Party misdeallings over the NBN resulting in delays and the over budget costs of Australia's biggest infrastructure project will be exposed very soon!
Great timing!
Thank heavens we had Turnbull to clean the cesspool created by Labor. :d

Oh don't be like that Davide! And I thought you and I can be mates enjoying a beer at the footy. Oh well, your loss mate!  I still would and trust me I'm intrigued to know what you look like and sound like etc coz I still have my doubts over your back story but I still maintain the discussion should stick to football, that's all. I don't like your politics but I also don't have to agree with everyone I know. I also find your opinion on these topics to be very shallow and only superficially informed hence why I try not to engage you in serious debate while I have better things to do. 442 is a bit of fun between tasks at work or if I'm a bit tipsy after a United game. Nice try Maybe you weren't talking to me? Seems like someone who has spent half his life in this small city (where people ask what school you went to even when you're in your 30s/40s/50s) with children of school age would know the differences of price structures between Catholic and Private schools etc I look forward to that beer. It will be a fascinating and enlightening chat that's for sure. I use my real name here and have posted pictures in the past of me playing in a band at Hindmarsh etc so I shouldn't be hard to spot come October. I'm in the market for a house too. Maybe once the prices drop on your properties we can talk ;)

You don't like my opinions, which is fine, but pull the other one on being ill informed. Politics these days has taken a very ugly turn and it will bight us on the bum. I've see it all before and the results of this lovey dovey approach will destroy this country so much, many won't want to live here. I am talking 50 years down the track. If the Greens win power for instance, I guarantee you that this countries future will not be bright at all. If Labor win power and increase the intake, it will just take a bit longer. Thankfully, Labor have adopted the LNP line somewhat but they are not tough enough. Those of us, who have done time overseas, and who have traveled and worked overseas, know what we are talking about. Australians are very naive because they have had it good for too long. Btw, I am a very honest guy. Also quite passionate and heart on sleeve type of person. You are also presuming Labor will win! Not very likely mate. Edited by Aikhme: 20/5/2016 10:39:24 AM

I have a lot of experiences in life including war between Christians and Muslims. I've seen it with my own eyes, as well as mass graves, ethnic cleansing, torture and summary executions. You guys have no clue that you are dealing with ageless hostilities. You can't understand that there is so much hatred and fanaticism. There is and it will be on your doorstep in due course! An analysis on Sky News (you don't have to tell me about the reliability, make of it what you will) was that almost a third of them don't speak English, have not ever had a job and something like 15% are illiterate. Whether those numbers are close to reality of not, it's clear that a significant portion are not even close to work ready. I'm not sure if that number of 7.7bil takes into account these numbers or not. I'm against offshore detention. It would be cheaper to house them in Australia and educate/train them to work. Once they're autonomous, they become producers rather than users which is a good thing. The big issue is the initial cost though. What's it really going to cost to set these people up? Do we get to send them to regional centres with negative population growth? At what point can we cut the cord and make them fend for themselves? It seems ridiculous to spend money on increasing our refugee intake when the cost for what we already take is astronomical and the program for refuges but all accounts I've seen, it useless. Funny thing also on Sky news was how Green councillors were demanding that we take more refugees, but refused to have them in their regions, rather sending them to western Sydney away from Green strongholds. Fucking typical  Demand action, providing they don't have to deal with it  May I suggest you scroll upwards to inform yourself by academics, rather than Murdoch electronic-rag-media EDIT - Now the previous page   Sky News gets their numbers from official sources....... Please advise where discrepancies between government figures and academics exist and their magnitudes. You have in the past labelled the ABC & The Conversation (not for profit organisations) both 'leftie' sites, which they would actually take as a compliment (& I bet I'd have to explain to you why......) Yet you report on an 'analysis' from a Murdoch mouthpiece Sky News. Speaks volumes

They are Liberal party documents that got leaked. They are trying to work out who leaked commercially sensitive docs. It has nothing to do with what the ALP did in govt. http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2016/may/20/australian-election-2016-turnbull-shorten-coalition-greens-labor-briefing"Fairfax Media is reporting the raids are over a leak to the news outlet that costs were blowing out in the rollout of the NBN and it was running behind schedule. It's the tangible, material contributions we make to the world in form of taxes and labour that make a real difference, not the # of degrees we have or how refined we think our critical thinking skills are. I'm just winding you up but what I wrote about not engaging properly coz I don't have time is true Politics is not as easy to fire off a few comments here and there like the football topics are. Also, if you're implying I'm an airy fairy Greens supporter who thinks the world should just love each other and put flowers in our guns you're quite mistaken aha You and I are at least similar in one thing though and I put that in bold type. That's why I try not to get drawn into debate here coz I will get fired up and never leave  Think I might stop commenting in Extra Time for a while actually.

 What have I got to do with this comment? Anyway, yeah, you can't compare a controlled migrant/refugee intake and our history of multiculturalism to things that are happening in Belgium or France. I was there over Christmas and the vibe there was scary, I agree. You can learn lessons from it, certainly. However, you are trying to over simplify such a complex issue. We have a very proud history of multiculturalism as opposed to just assimilation in this country no matter how many people try to denigrate the idea these days and it is an idea I believe in very strongly (and indeed your signature pictures etc shows why you should too) and for various reasons happen to know more about the subject than I even ever cared to.

Anyway, yeah, you can't compare a controlled migrant/refugee intake and our history of multiculturalism to things that are happening in Belgium or France. I was there over Christmas and the vibe there was scary, I agree. Many will not integrate. You think that this is going to be the same as Italian, Greek and other European migration! Talk about delusional!  Newsflash: They are not Christian, and many of them don't share Western values. You will have Sharia in no time just like in the UK. Davide82 wrote:You can learn lessons from it, certainly. You mean that you will learn a lesson for it and be on a plane back to Italy in no time.
