Soft. Will be filling in 1 - 151 here in NSW.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/federal-election-2016/guide/snsw/

Pauline in Cairns today. Got an MMS from a mate when he voted.

She's fishing where the fish are I suppose.

To be fair there's those kind of people everywhere haha.

Cairns relies too much on foreigners so they won't wanna drop them altogether.

Just pulling your leg but it fits the stereotype just so nicely.

Oh yeah, props to her for getting up here though, even saw her at the Rollingstone pub the other day as I drove past haha.

The 'yoof' whinging about the state of politics but guess which demographic has the lowest turnout?

That's right, the yoof.

Only 36% of 18 to 24 year olds voted in the EU poll and yet they're the biggest whingers about them leaving.

The point being that had Larissa Waters or Richard Di Nitale said the same thing Jones was saying there would have been heaps of applause. Instead Jones got crickets.

And it's true.

There were similar stats on the radio yesterday in regards to the amount of donkey votes in the lower age brackets.

Not only do they not vote, when they do theres an average of a 4-5% informal voting rate.

Im generally a fan of Waleed Aly.

He brought up tax concessions from Super on the Project last night.

What disturbed me so much was how he portrayed the people using legal loopholes to avoid tax as some sort of pariahs rorting the system and preventing us from building schools and hospitals.

Is it a problem? Of course, the super tax concessions are absolute nonsense. How the hell do people who wont need a pension anyway need a tax cut? Good to see both major parties putting up promises to sort this issue out.

However, the wording of piece was loaded and terribly unfair on people using legal avenues to avoid paying tax. It was as if these people were in the wrong. I like how he was called out on his loaded wording, poor effort from Waleed.

No all credit to Jones last night he was very good as was Plibersek. Cormann on the otherhand was a bumbling mess but that was to be expected.

Preference deals don't really matter any more. Not voting for a bunch of parties though isn't that great an idea unless you hate them all equally. If your preferences get exhausted, your vote is essentially not counted and the quotas become smaller. Definitely in everyone's best interests to number as many boxes as they can.

Scomo announces they'll balance the budget by cracking down on "welfare cheats" and pulls some numbers out of his arse as to how much they'll be able to recover. So sad that this sort of thing won't really be challenged by the MSM.
