That may be the best option at this point.

What proves this is that Queenslanders and NSW people probably also wouldn't have voted for Dan. We're not the same.

Don't really need an election to know that this is the best option. The racist, xenophobic, hick attitude that is so prevalent in places like Queensland and NSW doesn't reflect what normal, non shitty humans want in places like Victoria and SA.

United Socialist Republics of Tasmania and Victoria.

I mean we could just take them over after the breakup and nobody would notice or care. If we wanted to.

South Australia can have the NT, as you used to.

NSW would obviously swallow up ACT as it's reason to exist ceases to exist, but as such it'd just be even more of a ghost town than it already is.

You guys might as well go into union. You guys seem to be pretty similar culturally and politically.

We can but I can see them going into union with the other conservative states in Queensland and WA.

This election has helped reinforce what we learnt from the 2016 US election. When you have a shit lite party running against a shit party, the shit party will win.

The Labor Party need to stop serving the Coal, gas and gambling lobbies that have bought both parties and actually serve the people and not their donors.

You obviously learnt nothing about the 2016 US election.  When it comes to economic pragmatism versus aspirational values, race baiting, climate change fear mongering and virtue signalling, people will choose the economy every single time.

I'd like to take this chance to repeat my pet peeve of seats not being given geographical names, forming a barrier of obfuscation between the ruler and the ruled.

How many of you could name your division if asked, on any other day?

Yeah I can't keep up where each one is.

The parties that were doing race baiting were the Republicans and the Libs and those same parties were fear mongering over how much it will cost to take action against climate change.

Try again.

In all seriousness, my key takeaway post-mortem is that Clive's ad blitz in Queensland is what shifted the balance against Labor with some key swings, with things staying largely the same elsewhere.

Looking forward I don't think there's a future for Shorten. Unfortunately being a competent and articulate leader isn't enough, he didn't have the spirit and force of personality of recently passed legendary Labor leaders and hasn't electrified the voters. Who can take up the mantle is anyone's guess though.

Naturally the Murdoch media and ABC working as the LNP's attack dogs didn't help, but that's standard.

Lul no.

W.A. will absorb Christmas island, we will use it as naval base, for expected offensive operations by the Indonesian military once we liberate Bali.

W.A. will then be the happiest Australian nation because we’re all partying in Bali for free thanks to our tributary state South Australia paying us money for protection against the aggression of Victoria.

Of course this political scenario could completely change once the New Zealand Knights invade.

We want nothing to do this with “Queensland” nation.

Nothing we do in Australia will do anything for climate change.  Our emissions are puny at less than 1%, domestically it’s a latte issue and the Greens and Labor have massively overplayed it’s significance.  People aren’t shitty for choosing reliable energy and lower power bills over environmental posturing that makes no difference to global emissions.

Green saying no definitive result tonight but as far as the house of reps is concerned it's either a Lib majority or minority government.
