It's infuriating how the MSM (well, the ABC, I assume the rest are even worse) have taken Scomo's narrative switch to our country rather than him individually being "sledged" hook line and sinker and not playing Macron's preface that he has a lot of respect and friendship for our country and our people before he called out Scomo's individual conduct, as you can clearly see in the twitter video I posted.
Hopefully voters won't fall for such a simplistic reframing of the events.

Back to state politics for a sec. how can you be such a loud mouth then crash into another car when blind, then keep driving then smash into a kids bedroom, then according to all reports try to bail….and still be in parliament soaking up 200k a year?
This is obscene.

meh bit rich fr the French to claim the high ground on friendship and trust. Not that long when they were nuclear bombing the South Pacific ( 60 Minutes asked their foreign minister why he doesn't do the tests on the French Riviera LOL) Or the Rainbow Warrior. https://www.upi.com/Archives/1995/09/05/Australia-denounces-French-nuclear-test/4309810273600/As if we can rely on them to defend themselves let alone us.

This is purely business, if there was anything in the contract to hold us to it, the French would have.
Its not as if the French were giving the subs to us at mates rates. Hundreds of $ billions at stake and our security as we.
Morrison did what he had to for us. The rest is political hot air and sour grapes.

There's no doubt that the Aukus sub deal was the better deal (not that there's a deal yet) but there's nobody who can honestly say that Scomo has handled the diplomacy well, which is what is at issue.

So federal liberals backing Tim smith. Seriously what does it take for these guys to be accountable?
Drunk driving into a child’s bedroom is still not even sackable. Incredible.

Who's making it at an issue? The French? Who cares, they had no issue dropping nukes closer to Australia's mainland than some parts of France are to the French Riviera. Where was their diplomacy then. Fuck 'em. Or is it the left-wing biased media like the ABC and The Age/ SMH who is making it an issue? It was absolute delicious watching and reading them lose their shit when theirs and Labor's arrogance cost them the unloseable election, so fuck them too. The left wing sycophants are just pushing their agenda to in the lead up to the next election. Anyway from what I read, others who were present have said that Morrison told Macron at some dinner meeting well in advance that Australia was likely to pull out of the deal to which Macron replied "i don't like to lose". Sure-then build better subs at better price..... As for diplomacy, its just another way telling lies and pretending to be nice when doing.

Well I'm on Enzo's train of thought on the above. Who cares how the press report it or how Scomo behaved there, were way better off aligning with the Yanks/Poms in the big picture. Good move, don't care about all the other BS noise.

It is so embarrassing our performance in Glasgow.
For a country being ran into the biggest debt we ever have, and trade wars opening up on multiple fronts - we are going to be side stepped by every global economy.

In a way it's kind of good as it will out them in turmoil. I guess no law and order message for the next 12 months

Good move, don't care about all the other BS noise. Except the BS is important. We blindsided the US and have now leaked private messages behind leaders for partisan political reasons. We have nothing in place with either the US or the UK - just some preliminary announcements. Given our leaders propensity with sharing with all and sundry sensitive information will they reconsider whether they want to share any sensitive data with us and will they, in fact, go ahead with the deal.

All I see if both sides cherry picking statements to suit their narrative. None of this is "diplomatic" at all. Then trying to change the narrative about "sledging Australia" is dumb as well. Just cop it on the chin.
