Carrying over from http://au.fourfourtwo.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1278189#1278189It should be all-white(Real Madrid-style) with blue trims(the shade used in one of cgorac's sig badges would be great), and it should have a vintage-style Southern Cross contorted into a W. New to this thread... reminds me of the Heart thread before we came in.
I think they should go with an unconventional yet not gimmicky name. It needs to be based on the community from which it eminates... maybe a prominent river or geographic feature... I don't know Sydney well enoughto make a suggestion but that would be my reccomendation.
As for colours etc agreed that red is wearing thin now but if thats what the community want you'd be insane to ignore them
Aside from this - if Heart have done anything well it's building a club culture - you need a manager with a recognised style of play that matches the community, and some senior players prepared to set the standards off and on the pitch.

Oh sorry, I like both of the round ones. The WSA logo says foodball, btw. Round logo with bird gets my vote, though So you think the rounded logos sit better for our logo then the Arsenal style? And the round logo with the Bird is nice and is that Falcon picture right or another is needed?

All the WSA initials reminds me of West Bromwich Albion for some reasons. And coincidentally, ignoring the colour schemes:

this one for me. what about simply calling the team Sydney Athletic FC. they will still primarily represent the west as that is where the club will be based. but what tanner (i think it was) said in one of the articles posted earlier in this thread still resonates with me. why rule out people from all over sydney that might get behind the club, that at the moment for one reason or another, dont follow sydney fc Edited by jargernaut: 12/3/2012 10:22:23 PM

And i belive we need to focus on the 6 west districts: Bankstwon, Granville, MacArthur, Southern Districts,Nepean and Blacktown districts and set up teams in those areas as a foundation for our youth set up.

Admittedly it does look nice as is, and a magpie would probably make it less forceful. Oh and replace Athletic with Wanderers. Otherwise it's the pick of the crop. Well done.

Hopefully if a team gets up it won't have "west" or "athletic" in the name.

Don't like the name "Athletic"
Don't like the eagle. Too "American".
Don't like the fact a logo is being drawn up before we even know the NAME, COLOURS and and clear idea of the SYMBOLS to use.

yeah i actually think im starting to perfer Western Suburbs FC, rather than west sydney ......... dont know if tey can legally use that name, due to the magpies in league, but wernt they going bust or something, and maybe they copyrighted western suburbs magies rlc, which i guess means we could use western suburbs fc.

I do like that mack complains about GCU fans not going because of Clive, then in the next breath says he won't go to a WS team that plays at ANZ.

Western Suburbs will not be used.
That means nothing to anyone outside of Sydney.
Think about when the team makes the ACL. The name needs to mean something to the international viewer. Thats why Rovers dropped the "Western" from the name.
Remember, this sport is not limited to only Australia, so the name needs to be identifiable and make sense to an international audience.
