This is a reasonable exercise for Running With The Ball. The dribbling around the cones can be defined as 1v1 attacking skill, or dribbling skill. Instead of the player running back without the ball, she should run back with the ball with a Running With The Ball sprint. This gives the player more touches and develops more technique with ball carrying.

The only trouble with the UEFA exercises is they disappear after a while.

They have a couple more up there now as well

This is a basic dribbling guide.

To gain extensions on some of the Brazilian rolls or drags, one needs to visit Brazilian Soccer Schools or Coerver.

This is a good 4v4 or 5v5 (with keepers) wing play exercise to augment the 5-6 basic KNVB 4v4 training games.

It promotes the 1-2-1 diamond shape in the 4 person shape.

With younger kids, just decrease the size of the pitch.

This is a variation of the Dutch passing square.

It has advantages of players starting off with players forced to receive and pass on both sides of the body. The all important receiving foot being the furthest one.

There are a lot of touches of the ball in a short time in a simulated game context.

For technique development, it is important to emphasise doing things slowly and precisely, rather than rushing it.

This is an excellent, specific exercise for short inside of the foot and outside of the foot passing from the UEFA Training Ground website.

Current FFA doctrine dictates that coaches don't give specific instructions to players to learn a technique. Many experienced coaches, including some in the FFA system, have difficulty accepting this edict.

In the aforementioned video, those age old specific instructions, such as position of the non-kicking foot, are provided.

I thought I'd post this hoping for it to become a sticky. It seems there are hundreds of hits on Dirk's European Academy site without people adding comments.

It might be interesting for members to add specific UEFA drills/exercises they've found useful on the training track.

This is a resource often used by professional coaches around the world. It was referred to me a by a pro coach from another country.

Go to the 'Training' heading second from the left at the top of the home page for more drills/exercises.
