Make more sense for Arya to call out attention to fake her own death. But with time fast running out, they could just as easily see Arya escape to westoros and the Faceless men will never be mentioned again. although one particular faceless man has frequented Oldtown...where Sam is

Heard a great theory at work.
So the fit young actress who paid for the older actress to get assassinated comes back to Jacken saying "wtf I have to leave town now, I want a refund" so Jacken pays her back, maybe even more, and gives her a disguise so she can safely book a trip back to Westeros.
We already know he has the ability to make an Arya mask...

If it was not Arya then it is great way for Arya to get away. If it was Arya it probably was just to delay her getting to Westeros until she is needed there which is probably not until next season. If she is holed up recovering she has an excuse to be doing nothing for a while.

I will be legitimately pissed off if it was actually Arya that got stabbed.

If Ayra is legitimately hurt then I'd rather watch Ramsey torture someone or Danaerys walk though the desert with all that sexual tension then see a young woman bleed out and cry hiding from a crazy bitch in the dark
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

There's about as much chance of that being Arya as there is of Varys having kids.

If it is a decoy then I would argue it is bad writing as well, Arya was learning to look like other people not making other people look like her. Or am I missing something? A girl does not need to know for someone to appear to be a girl... The only theory that involves "Arya" actually being Arya that fits with that scene is the one where she fakes the stab wounds, which is such a stretch that Reed Richards would do a double take. Her hair is wrong, her posture is wrong, her clothes are wrong, her dominant hand is wrong, she has no fear despite cowering in a darkened room in her previous scene, she doesn't have her most treasured possession (Needle)... there's just too much of a leap to take "Arya deciding to spare the actress and hiding in fear" to "Arya is highborn on a bridge" with no intermediate scenes. We'll find out Monday for sure, but the smart money is on House of Black & White shenanigans.

Perhaps it was not meant to make sense.

The writing has dropped a bit since the earlier days, so I wouldn't dismiss poor writing.
I guess with so many twists, people are expecting one. What is the twist was there was none...

Episode 9 will also not just be the battle at Winterfell. Meeren is also a major part of the episode. The only two storylines for episode 9 are Winterfell and Meeren.

I suppose they still have a chance to explain to us why she was acting that way - but not holding my breath.
I maintain that the show-runners will just cut the faceless men from the rest of the show now their usefulness in holding a character is over. Just like the sand snakes, remember them....

Will be the shows version of the second siege of Meereen I'd assume. Couple of guesses for what we'll be seeing in the near future either at the end of the season or start of the next
Cersei will use her trial to kill the Sparrow by blowing up the sept with Wildfire and in the process she'll inadvertently kill Margery which will end up causing Tommen to kill himself (By apparently jumping out a window). Jaime will find out about this upon his return from the Riverlands and will strangle Cersei, fulfilling the Valonqar prophecy. Think we'll also see Olenna go to Dorne to try and recruit the Dornish because they're one of the only armies, along with the Knights of the Vale, to not be affected by the War of the Five Kings and hate the Lannisters as much as she does. Margery dying will be the catalyst for them marching on Kings Landing
Not sure how #CleganeBowl2016 fits in there but I don't care, it's fucking happening.

So it would seem the seeds for this Arya getting stabbed plot line were planted last season https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2016/06/game-of-thrones-arya-kill-the-waif-plan
