I know in Victoria that the structure of the state institute is an U15's squad who play in the U18 VPL comp and they have an older group of boys 16 and 17 i think which play in the VPL U21's comp.

Just wondering what it is like in other states, particularly NSW.

In Tasmania the older, or better team, plays against adult men in the reserves competition in the split state league. The NTC normally dominates the competition. Even if they don't win, they dominate possession.

In reality many of these reserves younger teams from split state league clubs, seem to have very young teams. There seems to be a paucity of older players in their thirties these days. Many players seem to retire very young.

The younger NTC team plays under 19 teams from the same clubs.

The NNSW Institute of Sport play in the NNSW State League U/19 competition. I've noticed occasionally, opposing clubs drop some players back to U/19's from U/23's as well.

The age of players is 15's and 16's as far as I'm aware.
