This is according to someone that's apparently a player agent in Argentina https://twitter.com/INDIOSANCHOLA/status/216747960338366464Quote:MPORTANTE OFERTA DEL ADELAIDE UNITED FC DE ASTRALIA X EL JUGADOR ARG ALAN SANCHEZ;Q ESTA EN MANTA ECUADOR; SE DEFINE EN 72 HS:::::::::: Google Translated Quote:IMPORTANT OFFER OF ADELAIDE UNITED FC X Astralia ARG PLAYER ALAN SANCHEZ, Q IS IN ECUADOR MANTA; DEFINED IN 72 HS :::::::::: Who knows how legit this is but could be interesting nevertheless.

26 year old attacking midfielder currently playing for Manta FC, he only moved there in April and has played 8 games for a return of 3 goals - no idea how many if any assists. If true could be a great signing, or terrible

Perhaps he is a bit down on confidence at the moment. Definitely a lot of similarities to Flores in terms of his playing history so you never know, could be another gem!

 Just read his stats with Manta properly, 8 games, 3 yellow cards, 3 goals & 2 assists; pretty mixed bag!

Do we know what level/standard league he'd be coming from? Heck, sounds quasi Flores-like - I wonder if they could still negotiate to have Flores within the cap, as unlikely as that would be?
Damn, Flores HAS to end up SOMEWHERE within this A-League - the league needs to hang onto him this time! Flores' team vs Broich's Roar would be quite interesting/entertaining?
Especially NOW that Hernandez has departed the league. :/

His pic and profile http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/alan-sanchez/leistungsdaten-verein/spieler_55226.htmlHis stats http://www.soccerway.com/players/alan-sanchez/14176/Hard to tell if how he will turn out if we do sign him. I'd perhaps rather see us make a bid for Aden da Luz seeing as though he is a young Aussie looking for a club and was educated at a Brazilian Serie A team and in Portugal. Yes I know so was Kaz Patafta

Interesting, and that kid too looks like he'd make a decent signing. Hopefully it comes off.

I wonder if anyone from the club has actually been over to "watch him play in person and has had personal contact with him"...

UnitedGal wrote:so we cant afford this guy but not Flores... I'm assuming you mean we "can afford". A relatively young, unknown player from Argentina, an attacking midfielder plying his trade outside his home country but still in South America, great highlights reel and he's cheap... sound familiar? Flores on the other hand will be demanding a higher wage, and rightly so. But that is beyond us, when we can fit the "next Flores" into the cap and visa quota comfortably, at the same time still keeping our two current marquees.

Val says that we've been interested in him before but doesn't think it's happening now. If we do sign him, I don't think we'll announce it until Flores has found a club. The shitstorm that would happen if they did it the other way around would be bad for club and for the new player.

Very much a PR management exercise if he is signed.
