I hate watching tennis players with a conscience. Just wipe the floor with the injured. If they want to stay out their its their fault they got injured more.

Not to take anything away from Stan, absolutely delighted for him and he's played brilliantly this tournament, taking out Djokovic, Berdych and now Nadal tells it's own story, but the guy's been lucky to have two walkovers and now Nadal at well below 100%.
Also, fucking poor form from the crowd to boo Nadal when they had absolutely no clue what Stan's problem actually was.

Nadal's been struggling with injuries and blisters all tournament. If he can make it that far carrying injuries I don't think there's any reason to detract from Wawrinka's achievement.

French open started tonight Its perceived to be the least popular of the four grand slams as everyone is an Anglophilic snob in their approach to the world Having said that, Roland Garros arguably has the best looking crowd with the assortment of Laetitia Casta and Melanie Laurents (and their lookalikes and aspiring to be them) sitting in the crowd Flushing Meadows could be argued to have Hollywood actors and sports stars from other sports, but the US Open definitely has an unfriendly time zone to Australia, except the night sessions ->

Li Na and Wawrinka both got knocked out in the first round which underlines what a shit tournament roland garros is sometimes
Sometimes its just glorified bullfighting

You can say a lot about Hewitt, but he is certainly one of the best 'competitors' in tennis, and Australian sports history. The career he has achieved given the limited weapons he has compared to most on tour is remarkable. If only Tomic had a attitude more like his.

An entitled, vain whinger who focuses more on his social life than Tennis, and rarely plays to his potential... wait, which young Aussie are we talking about?

How many people does Kyrgios need to beat to face off against Federer? That's the game I'm most excited to see happen.

Raonic is a different kettle of fish to nadal
Raonic has a serve that is impossible to return, Im not sure if Kyrgios is experienced enough to adjust his game against Raonic's serve, which is a force of nature
I find that Kyrgios will find it harder to express himself against Raonic because of that monster serve, which is even harder to pick on grass
Why do you think Lleyton Hewitt had problems against a guy like Ivo Karlovic, or how well Ivo Karlovic does on grass compared to the other surfaces?

If theres no guy who befits the role of a Bond villain in the theatre of sport, it is none other than Croat Ivo Karlovic Doesnt speak much or well, is physically imposing, not very resourceful (a very basic game plan which involves doing the same thing over and over), has a job to do -> which is to stop James Bond - the protagonist, despite the hassle James Bond has to do to overcome "the henchman" like Karlovic, Karlovic isnt the main baddie (ie Blofeld) in tennis the big bad is Rafael Nadal Edited by condemned666: 2/7/2014 02:40:43 PMEdited by condemned666: 2/7/2014 02:41:23 PM
