I dont think personal terms have been agreed yet and I wasnt told the club but must be a decent sized one....I am thinking still in Asia though.

Hahaha pretty much right...I figured this being an Australian website and not really traceable to Korea it could be of interest to people on this forum.

If that's true then hopefully still in Korea or Japan if within Asia like you say. Don't need any more Australian centerbacks in the middle east, we already have three.

Just perhaps the number of Aussie centerbacks in the Gulf is indicative of the rising standards there - and perhaps playing against the standard of striker now in those leagues will actually be good for said Aussie defenders... Perhaps.

I dont think he will go to Pohang as they already have a Serbian defender...Seoul could be a good possibility as while they have a Brazilian defender he is due to retire at the end of the season
Jeonbuk is probably out as well as in the last couple of days they are being linked to a Uzbek midfielder.

I would say he is headed for China or Japan.

The average attacking opponents they will come up against in Qatar or UAE are still not anywhere near Korean or Japanese level. As if that's all that matters anyway.
In my opinion training programs and quality of coaching plays a bigger part since this occupies alot more of their time than the handful of league games they play and is more focused on improving or maintaining their level of play. Not something Qatar is renound for.
I'm sure the Qatari and UAE leagues are improving in all facets due to the amount of money being poured in, but it's just not there yet.

I can 100 percent confirm he is leaving....there is a buyout clause in his contract of 1.5 million and somebody wants to pay it.

However the chief scout of the team is in Australia right now and wont release him until they get another Aussie in........so expect another A league defender in Korea at Gyeongnam soonish.

Sergio Escudero is a naturalized Japanese. He is a Spanish who moved to Japan at a very young age. Also he is a attacking mid/forward not a CB.

kingkenny, you can be sure this won't happen now with Wilkinson signing for Jeonbuk...I heard the offer has been approved, but it is contingent on Gyeongnam finding a replacement first. Once that happens there will be some movement.

As to Deveres destination....havent been told yet. Just that someone agreed to the buyout clause of 1.5 million and that he wont be leaving until the get a replacement. There are 9 rounds in the next 5 weeks so maybe after that I cod see him leaving. Should know by then his destination and replacement.

With all that has been going on in the club he goes and plays probably one of this best games in the Gyeongnam jersey (the rest of the team was decent as well). Four or five overseas (ie. white)scouts in the crowd tonight so great timing.

I heard out scout is back from Aussie now but have no idea of the results of his trip.

Nope but it looks like 2 or 3 other clubs have now matched the 1.5 million buy-out clause. There were 3 whitey scouts sitting in the crowd just confirming they made the right choice and he had is MVP of the round. So that tells me Europe is looking at him....us supporters are speculating Netherlands based on the transfer fee and their facial appearance.
Looks like it is up to him where he will go and he is choosing, more than that or what clubs I am still in the dark.

I think the club are hoping to hold onto him until the end of August and/or a new Australian defender (unknown at the moment) gets settled.

I have got nothing sorry....it was a done deal in early July and now nothing. I am speculating the club is waiting until after this weekend when the league takes a break for three weeks but he was injured midweek so who knows???

He is at a good club and his playing seems to be improving while he is there. Playing till the k league season finishes or even a little longer wont kill him.

Nope not in recent games...
I have heard today that the deal fell through but Devere is quite settled and is happy to stay until the end of the season. He will 100% be on the move in the winter transfer period though.
