From ESPN

"Shangai Shenhua are reported to be interested in Galatasaray striker Milan Baros. Baros has been transfer listed by the Istanbul club and is unwilling to accept a wage cut which would reduce his salary to €1.5 million per-season. However, the Chinese club surely need to sell a foreign player first before thinking about signing him. Not Drogba."

If this isn't as a replacement for Anelka who has seemed to be wanting out, surely this spells end for Griffiths in Shanghai - although being the +1 asian player probably helps him out

With Shanghai having more money then they know what to do with at the moment, this wouldn't surprise me. It wouldn't surprise me if they got linked with Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Messi. I guess this is possible, Anelka's about as happy as a rat in a cage, and Joel Griffiths really doesn't have the same hype as the likes of Baros, Anelka and Drogba.

Although he's still relatively new at Shanghai himself, I can't see them getting rid of him at this stage. He also seems quite happy in China, so I guess a move back home would be unlikely as he could still get some serious coinage over there. Highly doubt Beijing would take him back. IIRC, they were less than happy about his move to Shanghai.

WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!
