I honestly have to wonder if anyone in Adelaide bothers with due diligence. This reads like another Dexter Rosales. I hope they at least get some money off them upfront. They aren't a start up, they are not only Australia wide but international. They also already sponsor a SANFL team and the 36s. Also if you talk to people in the solar industry there is nothing wrong with panels made in China, as long as they are from a reputable supplier - unlike the shit that hit the market when all the dodgy brothers got into the market. They are close enough to a start up. I never said anything about their being issues with China's solar panel production. It's a reality in the technology industry, but it's also a terrible place to do business.... but that's a discussion for another post. My issue is a company that incommunicado with customers, delivers months late or not at all, delivers the wrong product, hikes prices on customers etc. After researching they haven't moved anywhere near enough products to be offering $250k sponsorships. I wouldn't be too happy being associated with a shonky company though, in this market it's hard to be too fussy. I would be concerned about actually being paid the money though. If they can't deliver to customers what gives the reassurance that they will deliver money in a sponsorship?

Interesting sponsor. They seem to be into supporting SA sport though. They already sponsor 36ers and Woodville Oval and Woodville West Torrens FC from SANFL. Great stuff to get a sponsor on board for this season, was worried AU were going to be the only ones without. Logo looks a bit rubbish though, especially that high on the shirt. Dont think its quite as bad as Fc's webjet logo though.

Quote:Unleash Solar fills Adelaide’s sponsorship void Unleash Solar fills Adelaide’s sponsorship voidLeading A-League club Adelaide United has ended a six-month search for a new main shirt sponsor by agreeing a one-year deal with Unleash Solar. The agreement is set to cover the loss of previous partner, brewery Coopers, under the terms of Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) recent decision to join 11 other national sporting organisations in turning its back on alcohol sponsorship by signing up to a major new A$25 million (US$25.16 million) government-funded programme. United’s new agreement with Unleash Solar is reportedly worth A$250,000 and will complement the funding the club receives from its share of the FFA’s government partnership. However, United chief executive Glenn Elliott said the club was still “a long way off” from turning a profit. “Two of the key factors that affect the profitability of the club are sponsorship – which is really tough – and crowds,” he told the Adelaide Advertiser newspaper. “We’re in unprecedented tough times in Adelaide in the business sector. One of the first things that go when business gets tight is discretionary expenditure. Sponsorship is one of those.” Commenting on Unleash Solar’s partnership with United, the company’s general manager, Spiro Perdi, said in a statement: “As a company we share many similarities with Adelaide United. We are both focused on growing to build a stronger footprint nationally and internationally, with Unleash having recently expanded to the USA, as in the same way Adelaide United also strives to be a major player in Asia. We encourage all South Australians to get behind these two great teams and make this season a success.” http://www.soccerex.com/industry-news/unleash-solar-fills-adelaides-sponsorship-void/

I wonder if they are getting the $300k from this deal that they lost from the Coopers deal? Wait till you see the full length shot then!!! Who ever we got was never going to be as cool as Coopers, but it beats the hell out of Jim's Plumbing! Local company supporting the mighty Reds is good for SA:) they want to sponsor us - that makes them cool enough for me
