+x+xAustralia international Tim Cahill is "nowhere near being at his best" for Millwall, says Lions boss Neil Harris. The veteran forward, 38, made his second debut for the Championship club in Friday's 1-1 draw with Cardiff City during second-half stoppage time. "He needs a lot more minutes on the training pitch and in behind-closed-doors games to really get him up to speed," Harris told BBC Radio London."How long before he is ready to start a game, we'll have to see."

at least that sounds like they intend to start him. funny how underdone someone can be considering they just left one of the best club environments in australia and have been in NT camps. you would have thought he would be fit and ready to go. Promotion on the way, with the help of King Cahill

As reported, Rogic was supposed to get time in a youth game but it was cancelled. He won't be facing Zenit either. Cahill still requires fitness. Both still have a bit of time before the March games. We know what they can do and hopefully van Marwijk can test them in his system.

Re Rogic, pretty pathetic considering they could potentially win Europa. Don't really understand what's happenning there. It's like they don't care anymore, wonder how the fans feel about what's going on with the club.

Fans on forum saying are struggling to pick 11 Celtic starters they're happy with. Looks like they have a good core 11 still but without Rogic they don't look the same

He'll probably end up spending all the money he made in China in a few weeks on food in Switzerland.

Bert gets announced and Cahill, Milligan and Sainsbury all trade up leagues.

Good thing is he'll start playing almost immediately 18/2 first game He's got a 21 yo Jean-Pierre Rhyner, 24 yo Emil Bergström and 31 yo Milan Vilotić to compete with @ CB. You'd think he'd start before the 21 yo.

I think it's the opposite. That they stopped getting calls (from Ange).
@Pala
Not sure. More players from that league will be at the World Cup than A-League. They also finished above us.
I don't believe they are better than us but that an all Saudi league team would beat an all Australian A-League team. Eg SFC fans said they wouldn't trade any players in their starting 11, every player in their start 11 v SK has been named for Socceroos expect Calver and Resmayne in the last 12 months, even Arnold. They got destroyed. The best domestic team in the history of Australian football.
We aren't that great atm.

If we're going off one-offs, Leeroy George was the official player of the round in the ACL, and he and Rhys Williams made the offical team of the round, but no players from Saudi clubs did. Al-Alhi, currently second in their league, used their miilions and their AFC slot on Milligan for reason. I'd also say that the Saudi league has more players in their national team because they seldom leave their bubble, while A-League players are going on to bigger things quite regularly. Of course it's harder to make a direct comparison with the AFC splitting up the ACL.

Interesting with Cahill, Milligan and Sainsbury. It goes from least surprising to most surprising in that order. Sainsbury is genuinely a shock as it seemed he was set on pre season and kicking off well.
Milligan is puzzling. Probably earning more but quality of league can be debated. Cahill getting championship level has its surprises but Millwall had been somewhat obvious if it were to happen.

Let's say the leagues are the same. Then it comes down to 2 things I think-
Salary and playing on a team that is more dominant in the league. That often makes you appear to be a better footballer than you are.

I doubt BVM will even want to watch any Saudi games.

I watch a lot of Saudi football for my job.
I obviously watch all A-League matches, and have done for the past 10 years.
There is ZERO doubt in my mind that overall the standard of the Saudi league is far superior to the A-League.
In fact for me it sits just behind the J.League as the second highest standard in Asia, above Korea.

Out of interest, how many other scouts do EA use for say the A league to giver their opinion on player stats?
