I think I actually agree with this particular agenda of yours ardtho. I agree that the ikon has great potential, but to be selecting him now over a goodwin or kamau, when both have performed very well in the a-league and goowin has done admirably in his time in the eredivisie so far. Even mabil is doing alright and has shown more at a much higher level than ikon
Also wouldnt mind the suggestion of smith being pushed up to lw and gersbach coming at LB

+xKalik not in the squad for Hajduk Split's 2-1 cup win. Is he injured? Haven't heard about him for a while.
Kalik was with the Young Socceroos over the past few weeks for their super triumphant tilt at qualifying for the next World Cup. Wouldn't be unexpected for him to not just walk back in to the first team squad.

Full match for Edwards, 2-0 win away to Dundee.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Australia midfielder Massimo Luongo's dream of playing in the Premier League may come true sooner than expected should interest from Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion or Middlesbrough turn into firm offers in the January transfer window. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2016/10/27/premier-league-trio-circle-socceroos-ace-luongo

Meanwhile, former Eastern United defender Franz Pjetri made his international debut for Albania’s under-17s on Thursday. The 16-year-old played for 80 minutes in Albania’s 0-1 loss to Italy at home in a UEFA Under-17 championship qualifier. Pjetri was part of SA’s NTC system before former Parma defender Diego Pellegrini took him under his wing at Eastern United at the end of last year after the AIS did not offer him a contract. Pjetri was signed by Italian club Udinese last month after AS Roma also showed interest in attracting the defender to the Serie A giant. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/football/a-league/teams/adelaide/awer-mabils-first-goal-dedicated-to-old-teammate-jordan-elsey/news-story/d8900c320b7772f71f860764b63b898f

Former MV player Dylan Murnane's Kongsvinger (norwegian 2nd Div) just won the semi final in the Norwegian Cup. They are now playing Gersbach's side in the final. So we could see two aussie left backs. However, Murnane was on the bench so it's unlikely

In other news great to see Kwame Yeboah a former Roar player starting to do well in Germany for Gladbach's reserves side. Apparently he has got 4 goals in his first 11 games this season, keep it up.

Apparently he has got 4 goals in his first 11 games this season, keep it up. I think the most positive news about that is that he is pushing for higher honours. We've seen a few recently return to Australian shores after struggling to make any impact in Europe. Sometimes they need to bide their time and put their heads down and work their arses off. If they're good enough they make it to their level!

Just looking at the Gladbach side. They've got no registered striker or target man in their squad at all. They're very reliant on their speed and the men up front were once and still really are wingers. One can dream bit Yeaboah is tall and a striker. If they need someone like that. .....

Full 90. These things can go so quickly. He's just got to keep at it regardless of level.

The Gladbach first team played a 0:0 draw tonight. The coach said they had no one up front but sees their massive schedule as tiring. Yeaboah has very little chance of making this squad with its excellent depth despite the fact they don't have a striker.
Coach Schubert will know him well as he was reserve coach only 15 months ago. Gladbach are in a spot where they can't afford experiments. They're mid table and need wins, 3rd round of the cup with a high chance to go far and should make at least the Europa League as 3rd in the CL.

Good news with Degenek returning ahead of schedule from injury, playing the second half for 1860 last night. It was expected that he might miss about 8 weeks, but made it back within 4 http://www.fourfourtwo.com.au/news/degenek-returns-from-injury-440365
