In the (very) few minutes golgol played for wsw he seemed a lot better than his career trajectory suggested. If he stays fit I think it's only a matter of time before he plays for Australia.

Only way golgol playing for AUS is if he moves to a more reputable league. It is difficult to rate the opposition he is playing against.

That first goal his team scored looked like the centre halves been taking notes of Lovern from the weekend ... the second goal they conceded defending wasn't much better. Good goals by Golgol though. The last finish very clinical.

He needs to move to a team like Viktoria Plzeň or Slavia Praha that way he is most likely to play in europa or UCL should they make it past the qualifiers

The problem is we have no strikers playing in reputable leagues. The Swiss league is not reputable, no better than the A league, yet Juric is hailed by some a future goal scoring saviour. The Czech league is ranked higher than the Swiss league, and is probably a similar level to the A league or better. The difference is Golgol is the only one consistently scoring goals at the moment, so why wouldn’t you give him a crack? There is little downside here, it’s not like we’ve shot ourselves in the foot by keeping Juric or Mclaren on the bench.

I watch it pretty frequently. Probably similar to eredivisie

Dont see what the fuss is with the Swiss league. Just because its in Europe and they play in the Europa League doesn't mean its a high standard. FC Basel might be alright but outside of that most of the teams would be gash. Also with the high quality of imports this season I doubt Swiss would be much better than the A league, if at all.

Gol gol has had a slow start to this season, but if he keeps this up and the Czech league is any good, then he will be getting interest from other clubs and other leagues soon enough.

He had a slow start to the league season, but scored a few goals in the clubs European qualifying before the start of the league season. The opposition were not great, Shamrock Rovers and another team. It also must be remembered he has played on the RW a bit as well.

Basel, young boys and sion would wipe the floor with a-league teams. I see no need to be parochial. The only way we can move forward is if we're honest with ourselves

I'm pretty sure most a-league teams would destroy most swiss teams. The player quality is a lot higher here. They don't have anybody there near the quality of the quality of cerjudo, castro, riera, ninkovic etc. Basel and young boys would possible be the top teams but other that them the a-league would dominate.
edit: in fact I'd back sfc against basel/young boys.

AL players are generally not experienced in matches that matter. there are no losers. you can finish in the bottom half and get in the final. its sunday football.

Anyone see that fox sports article on that young Aussie in England? 14 year old Alex Robinson. Could play for 4 nations. Anyway I'll get excited when he's doing well at 17 and then we'll see from there. Say too many disappointments.

Panos Armenakas came on as a 67th minute to make his senior debut for the AFC Tubize first team last night. I think it was a cup fixture?

His dad Matk is a former Socceroo, ex Nsl and A League (I think Sydney fc) player. He was a lonv time Aussie Abroad member also.

Wanting to be a footballer doesn't mean you can blowtorch him like a full pro. He might turn 17 and it turns out he likes nice women and cigars instead.
