Troisi should have went to Serie B or possibly another club he's way too good for the a-league. Like all players he just needs a run of games to get going we would similar results from Kruse and Rogic if there managers gave them 3-5 starts in a row. But it just wont happen.

Really he should have come straight to the A-League when he didn't make it at Newcastle, then he would have gone straight to Serie A or wherever. Would have had plenty of football and been a household name for years already, not to mention a first XI Socceroo.

I don't think the HAL would have developed him in the same way.

I think he needs some game time first. Some guaranteed game time. I reckon he could make it back in Europe easily. Maybe after the World Cup.

If he is good enough there will always be opportunities later.

I feel like I am posted heaps only on Giannou but he is the only one turning up in articles. Anyway here is some some quotes from a Ginnou interview (translated this time). There are some stuff before this but very generic. I grabbed these three replies as I think it is interesting how it is at least looks like he moved for first team football which we don't always see with players at big clubs. He calls the team very young and very greek and just out of speculation I think he includes himself as Greek which could suggest he might prefer to play for Greece but his kangeroo celebration shows Australia is still part of his identity and he probably just feels like he belongs to both nations. Lastly and also unsurprisingly his team has financial problems so if he does become valuable they will try to cash in on him. I doubt he has as close as a connection as McGowan to Hearts so hopefully if this does happen it will be to a club where he will play. Quote: I made the choice this year and walked away from PAOK to come to Panionios . Are you satisfied with your choice ?
" Yes because I got what I needed , games . Forth in this age this is the challenge for every player to play ."
- Consider PAOK should have more opportunities?
" In PAOK are harder to get opportunities, is fact. This is a large group. Has many requirements . Why I chose to come to Panionios is a showcase for Greek football. Several guys did a step above playing edo. Mou like much that the team are very young and very Greek. "
- How you affect the economic problems of the team in the locker room ?
"I think the race day forget them all . Problems returning the epomeni. To point is that we all make an effort. We can not give up the team, we want the best for her . However when playing , forget them all . That this to be sure all " . http://www.contra.gr/Soccer/Hellas/Superleague/panionios/giannoy-sto-contra-gr-o-paniwnios-einai-h-vitrina-toy-ellhnikou-podosfairoy.2498608.htmlEdited by moofa: 13/11/2013 01:14:02 AM

Does anyone else feel that with Ange in charge its more likely that players like Giannou will be capped/locked in for oz earlier?

Well there is only one camp before the WC and that is in March so I think he will be either a pretty expected pick or have dropped off by then but I get your point. I am guessing before the next qualifier Ange will make a trip to Europe visiting a few players personally and if he can add Greece to his trip you would think he will so I suspect Giannou has a good chance of being in the picture yes.

anyone else notice how negative and defeatist the comments are on the 442 os aussies weekly updates (not this one the articles)
people clearly weren't watching 2 years ago when there was no young players getting time in europe, or last year when it improved significantly and things finally turned the corner. This year we actually have quite a lot of young aussies playing and will probably get 6 odd break through each year. I would have thought people would be stoked at the progress. In this thread people are more optimistic mind you. What's going on?

I think a couple of years a go we still had a lot of the golden generation playing regularly which hid we virtually had not youngsters playing. The wrap ups in say 2010/11 would still have Schwarzer, Cahill, Emerton, Bresc, Kewell, Niell still playing in Europe so I don't think people were as worried by things like Kruse not playing in the 2.Bundesliga or none of the Utrecht boys were playing and in general we had not yougsters doing anything in Europe.

Biton and Pukki both started the game, Rogic came on with ten minutes to go.If he gets a full game he may well impress too.

Im sure Lennon realises the immense talent Rogic is and will slowly usher him into the starting line up.

Amini will hopefully be training with 'first team' today. While not really a first team with international week it should give him a chance to train with Klopp if he is invited.

3 game reel of Giancarlo Gallifuoco. Doesn't mind a long cross ground ball. With Spurs squad so large though I think a loan is the only way we will see him playing first team football.

He also go a mention from the official twitter
Tottenham Hotspur @SpursOfficial 10h .@giange94 in action this lunchtime #THFC pic.twitter.com/lSHwnLRYW6
It was a combined first team and development squad training but he has been invited to train with the firsts a couple of times. I think he trained with them for a lot of the pre-season.

I don't know if it is an instagram video the channel owner brought over or if he is actually making the youtube videos but it is a pretty nice bit of skill.

Dylan McGowan played in a fundraising friendly Wednesday against Wolfsburg. The game ended 0-0 and while not a full strength Wolfsburg there was still a few first team players playing so a good result. http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spfl/hearts-feel-good-factor-returns-for-dylan-mcgowan-1-3189900

CAP HIM!!!!!!!!!!! In all seriousness though, given time he's the type of player I'd personally like to see in midfield for the roos. Can win the ball and seems to have some range when it comes to passing. If only we could somehow genetically breed a 1/2 Jedi 1/2 Bresc hybrid. :-k
