Borrello almost got an assist, Kruse was involved in a goal.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Kaiserslautern lose again. Borrello going OK but the entire side just aren't clicking so well. They won well at the death last week but today was tough.

Dougall with a full 90 and Goodwin got 84min in a 3:1 loss. Mooy starting against City and Leckie should be on in just over an hour.

SL 2017: Erik Paartalu says Bengaluru FC can still improve after 4-1 win over Delhi Dynamos

The Australian scored twice for the Blues and also complimented his midfield partner Lenny Rodrigues

Bengaluru FC topped the ISL table with a 4-1 win over Delhi Dynamos and the hero of the night was midfielder Erik Paartalu who grabbed a first-half brace to put the Blues 2-0 up at half-time. And the Australian joked that he was looking to net a hat-trick by taking penalty duties if the Blues had won one in the second half.

"We had a laugh at half-time that if we had a penalty then I'd try and take it but that's Sunil Chhetri's job," he said with a grin.

"But we were pretty focused in the second 45. We came out with a different idea to try and sit back a little bit and play on the counter and it worked for us perfectly. We were disappointed to concede a goal but four goals on the board is pretty good."

The two sides were dominant in possession in their first fixture and the Blues had to step it up a notch in this game to come away with all three points.

"We needed to play good possession football and it was just about trying to match up against that. It was an improvement from last week - we didn't play our best game last week but we still came away with a result."

Bengaluru can still improve: Paartalu

Although the Blues are at the top of the table having scored six goals and conceding only one - a penalty from an unlucky handball - Paartalu still feels there is room for improvement.

"This week was better in terms of our performance but we can still improve. But we can't complain with four goals."

"There's still a lot of work to do in terms of keeping possession and creating better chances for ourselves," he explained. "It will come; it's only Game 2 in the ISL. We've got a few more games to go."

"We certainly pushed on a little more today and that's the way we like to play; press on teams to try and win the ball back quickly so we can keep possession but Delhi are a good side and they keep the ball really well tonight as well. They're a good side and they'll be up there at the end of the season.

Paartalu enjoying his relationship with Lenny

The Blues' midfield partnership of Paartalu and Lenny Rodrigues has been fundamental to their possession and pressing game and the 31-year-old Australian was quick to compliment Rodrigues for his performance on the night as well.

"He's a great player and a great personality for the team," Paartalu said. "He works his socks off and makes my job a hell of a lot easier because he runs so much.

"He's comfortable on the ball and he scored a goal tonight so I'm thrilled for him as well. All the boys have been fantastic and it was a team effort today."

Bengaluru next play three away games on the trot against FC Goa (30 November), NorthEast United (8 December), and FC Pune City (14 December).

Paartalu was such a wasted talent. When he was at the Roar i honestly saw him as a genuine contender for Jedi in the holding position. He had similar physical presence with a better passing range. The move to Korea seemed to signal the end of his development

Watch the first half of Huddersfield last night, they defended well but unfortunately were swimming against the current the whole half.

It was interesting to watch Mooy, he was played as a left central midfield (with Hogg in the middle and Williams on the right). Mooy's job seemed not so much to mark but De Bruyne (or Silva if he came over to the right) but instead to mark the space between him and the defender trying to play the ball into him. If they got the ball he'd then drop to mark them. Similarly the left winger played as a full back (in effect they played 6 at the back ... 6-3-1). It did reduce space for Man City to exploit, but still required some desperate defending to keep them scoreless in the first half.

This meant that for most the game Mooy was marking space and not a man (and it seemed a lot of Huddersfield players were similarly instructed to defend space instead of the man without the ball ... except the centre backs). It made the striker do lots of defending in their own half as pretty much no Huddersfield player other than the striker would pressure the defenders on the ball (even in their half), including Fernandinho.

So yes Huddersfield had a respectable loss on the score board, but really from the kick off (played it back to a defender who kicked it long) the mentality of Huddersfield was not to lose by too many today ... which I guess sometimes you have to play that way.

Sometimes you have to play like that? They 16-0 this season... Huddersfield are the only real team to actually contain city... liverpool on the other hand looked like sunday league players compared.

Pretty obvious Pep's tactics / Sterlings 2 attempts @ Olympic diving , getting one easily on the second attempt.
Sterling prances around like a prize winning pony, one player I really hate to watch.
Mooy looking more and more comfortable in the top league. It's great to see him and Maty not only feeling @ home  but being consistent starters. woop dee doo :D

Agree, both looking very much part of the furniture in the EPL. If either of their teams go down I'd imagine they'd get picked up by another EPL team.

Seems to be out of favour with the first team now, not really been in the squad this past month and featured for the u21's.
