+x+x+xMabil starting in Portugal. Im going to be the first to publicly state how surprised i am with the amount of game time mabil has had since moving to europe On the other hand, McGowan hasn't played much at all; just five minutes once in a cup match. Not sure if it's been reported here yet but apparently Pacos de Ferreira want to loan him out, probably to Asia. Seems he's being loaned to Gangwon in Korea.

Celtic reportedly close to completing the signing of Australian teenage midfield sensation Celtic vs Hearts According to the Daily Mail, Celtic will hand a 3-year deal to 17-year-old Australian and Belconnen midfielder Leo Mazis next week following his successful trial in November. The highly-rated teenager impressed manager Brendan Rodgers when he was at the club’s training facility at Lennoxtown late last year, prompting the Hoops chief to sanction a deal. Mazis’ performances for the Canberra-based semi-professional side haven’t gone unnoticed on his continent, and he has been widely tipped to follow in the footsteps of Australia international Tom Rogic who has made a name for himself at Parkhead. The likes of Anthony Ralston, Calvin Miller and Michael Johnstone are amongst the highly-rated academy starlets handed an opportunity in the Hoops’ first-team this term. Should he continue to prove his worth, Mazis could also be featuring in the senior side in no time. Rodgers has always reiterated his desire to build a legacy at Celtic, with breeding youngsters a top agenda of his. With promising talents like the Australian midfield sensation under his belt, the club could be establishing itself as one of the best sides when it comes to churning out future stars going forward. http://futnsoccer.com/2018/01/04/celtic-reportedly-close-to-completing-the-signing-of-australian-teenage-midfield-sensation/

There are 91 or so NPL teams and A-League clubs don't really scout from what I read here. This is why there is a push for a national second division, to consolidate talent. This will also help with scouting (both Australian and international clubs).
A-League clubs also have a salary cap and limited squad numbers, so they can't collect players.

Langerak was on the bench. Not sure what to make of that.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

On the bench for a cup match.
He doesn’t make matchday squads for league games because he’s #3 GK, but when the #2 plays in cup games he gets to watch from the bench.

Ryan McGowan trolls Rangers fans over club’s history five years after ex-Hearts star snubbed a move to IbroxThe Australian international currently plays in the United Arab Emirates with Al-Sharjah FC but could have joined Ally McCoist's side in 2012 By Robert Collins 5th January 2018, 11:53 am Updated: 5th January 2018, 12:16 pm RYAN McGOWAN has taken a cheeky dig at Rangers fans on Twitter – trolling them over the club’s history. The 28-year-old had the chance to join Gers in 2012 after the club was put into the bottom tier of Scottish football.
KEITH CAMPBELL - THE SUN GLASGOW Ryan McGowan during his time at HeartsBut the then Hearts ace chose to remain at Tynecastle over fears it would ruin his international career. McGowan remains a close follower of the Jambos and responded to our tweet from yesterday suggesting John Souttar as a possible Ibrox target. A SunSport Online feature looked at nine Scottish Premiership stars who could improve Graeme Murty’s side. And the Australian international questioned whether Scotland Under-21 star Souttar would be interested in an Ibrox switch, saying: “Why would Souttar want to go to Rangers?” The former Dundee United defender was then barraged with messages from frustrated Gers supporters who took aim at his playing career in the Middle East. Twitter user Chris McLaughlin said: “If that’s the case then why you playing in UAE?” McGowan replied: “Talking about Souttar not my situation mate….thanks for taking an interest in my career though.” McLaughlin said: “Not really. I hadn’t a clue who the club was on your bio and had to google it but you’re absolutely right. “Only leave Hearts if you can go to bigger clubs than Rangers, like Shandong.” That remark prompted the Gers putdown from McGowan, who left Hearts for Chinese Super League outfit Shandong Luneng Taishan in 2013. He said: “Shandong’s a big club mate….has a lot more history too.”

R. McGowan would be in a better position to make Russia if he had gone to Rangers although it would have hurt him in the short term. Really hoping the next manager of the NT puts an end to the money moves. We desperately need Sains to move I would argue our chances of advancing from the group almost depend upon it.

Just came back from injury so it's not surprising. Nevertheless, he probably needs to leave and play regularly in the championship. Doesn't look like Elder will get any minutes.

Luongo rested in a 1:0 loss to MK Dons. Bristol are out. Irvine not off bench in 1:0 win at Blackburn. Huddersfield through.

+xSmith off at half time after going 0-2 down at home to a League One team. All reports said he had an awful game and from first glance at the highlights he was at fault for their first goal failing to win a header he was in position for. Probably the last game he'll ever play for Bournemouth

https://youtu.be/yzwFDmOus-0Bournemouth highlights. First goal saw Smith not jump high enough to clear. Some may say foul in air but pretty fair duel. Frustrating to see.
