If you price yourself out of the market that says as much about you as it says about the market.

What a meaningless statement. How do you think companies like Ferrari or Lamborghini get by? By lowering prices so any old mate can hop in?

Whilst I don't think Cahill is the greatest player Australia has produced nor anywhere near a nice person, the bloke almost single handedly got us qualified for the world cup on the wrong side of 35, brings fans to league games and contributes goals.

We're not talking about Jason Hoffman or Ruben Zadkovich here - if they priced themselves out of a move then yeah, that says a lot about both sides, but to say the same for Tim Cahill is completely meaningless. It's bumper sticker level philosophy at best and some kind of dishonest ignorance at worst.

Connor Chapman changing Korean clubs from Incheon to Pohang Steelers.

Saw something that Chapman has come in after Bozanic failed to seal a move there.

So that's Chapman off to a better team and Halloran set for plenty of game time.
Bozanic... dear oh dear.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Did he demand an investigation?

What a shame for Bristol City, losing 2-1 to a 92nd minute goal to Man City.

Full game for Wright.

I dont think there is any doubt he can play the position but i dont think he is suited to playing as a wing back.

May be an option if the new Aus manager is happy for his fullback to stay back

I really do think a defensive minded RB who sits benefits the national team allowing Leckie to run at defenders with impunity

That is simply a shameful comment. It is an absolute disgrace that you're taking some English nobody's side over the person who has carried the national team on his shoulders through thick and thin for years and years. A 'bad personality' for not getting along with the likes of Warren Joyce... Yuck! You're fucking disgusting.

Let Tim play anywhere! He's Timmy!
let him play till he's 90! He's Timmy!

he should be able to tell the coach what to do!

Mate, what a load of fucking shit.
Go chew Cahill's knob somewhere else.

He's 38...he's not an automatic start anywhere, regardless of what he's done in the past.

I have no good or bad feelings about Joyce, but he's the coach, and team selection starts and stops with him. Timmy is finding out that the real world doesn't share your blind adoration of him.

Because they can't afford him?

More likely because his demands at this stage are not financial, but guaranteed game time in order to get chosen for the WC.

At this point, his own priorities do not really coincide with many teams, I would think...

Wright got caught out for that late City winner. Bristol were parking it and while Wright was giving lots of defensive instructions, he pushed up a bit unnecessarily which saw Aguero get goal side.

It's not blind adoration. I wouldn't start him myself all the time. I just feel bad at how it's all turning out, because I think he'd be rather useful for us at the WC.  I think that Joyce and CFG should have shown him more a bit more respect and given him the benefit of doubt befitting such a legend of Australian football, even if his post-Honduras interview was pretty dumb and self-defeating.  Instead, Joyce allowed him no leeway and seemed to treat him like some petulant 19 year old. And honestly, it'd be easier to take if it at least came from a proper coach, but Joyce is literally a nobody who advocates awful football, shows no charisma or man management skills, and seems like a relic of the dreary old-school English philosophy. It's actually insulting that CFG seem to think that's the kind of coach our league needs.

The gimmick goal celebration for some Byron Bay travel company and his general attitude is a bit 'me me me' IMO.

He seems to promote himself instead of the game these days so it's not hard to see why people are going off him.

He is clearly self-centred, but not in a particularly offensive way. It's not like he undermines others to promote his own brand. His goal celebration was incredibly stupid, but it didn't hurt anyone. It just showed that he's not terribly smart, but I don't expect footballers to be geniuses. Otherwise, he seems perfectly OK and mostly carries himself with sufficient grace.

It's been a slow burn for burn for me, not sudden.

For the last 8-10 years, I've realized his ego is truly out-of-control. There is no conversation he is unable to turn to the topic of his own ability, self-belief, goals, how much he is feared by opponents, etc. Asked a question about team-mates, he talks about his role in making them better; asked about the team, he talks about himself..."everyone knows it's what I do, everyone knows what I can do" etc etc

This is not a few times, this is every time he's interviewed.

After a while it started making me sick. I like my heroes humble.

I like my heroes to play good football. I realised a long time ago that sometimes to be the best you have to be a bit selfish or self centred, but then again they are just human beings, how easy would it to be humble when you are adored & feted everywhere you go. Yes there are a few humble football/sporting stars, but very far & wide.

Many other sportsmen manage it, many of them far better talents than Cahill.

I haven't noticed such self love in anyone else to the same extent.

Being feted doesn't inevitably lead to becoming a wanker; many other sportsmen manage it. True wankerism comes from within...

Interest in behich has cooled a little after his price has been put out. Three clubs in Turkey have reportedly shown interest but not prepared to pay.

Also I can't find the article but one seemed to mention he got Turkish citizenship (his dad is a Turkish Cypriot) and took a different name,  Eraltay. If you look up Aziz Eraltay he seems to be referred to that quite often. Is this common/required when taking Turkish citizenship, his name already seemed to be Turkish.

EDIT: found an article which mentioned it:

"the names Aziz Behic and Sakib Aytaç. St. Behich was born in 1990 in Melbourne. In 2013, he received the surname of Eraltay and became a Turkish citizen."
