Agree League one players get paid more than A League players lol. They have good attendances, little expenses and a flow of money running down from the premier league. They'd outwage a lot of leagues

So who's the Barnsley trialist?
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

+xSo who's the Barnsley trialist? Well Gersbach was in China when that tweet went out and could have been there nearly until the end of the month if we made the semi finals of the U23s so I am thinking it was either Luc Jeggo or some bit of information is wrong. If something is wrong it could be they were just scouting Gersbach and/or with Dani Pinnilos looking close to signing they are not worrying about that anymore. Another option which I think is possible and hasn't been mentioned is Dylan Murnane. He fits the fact Barnsley want a fullback, He was in Norway until this window and moved to a club that has received two transfer fees ever and one of those was 9k. Since he hasn't played a competitive game he wouldn't be tied down by FIFA and he is the kind of player you would think needs a trial (unlike Gersbach). It would be similar to how Gavin de Niese signed for South Melbourne for like two weeks before joining Anthony Carther at Trofense in Portugal.

I don't know why I didn't think of Murnane straight away, seems he sort of melded with Luc Jeggo in my memory somehow. I even took both his pictures on his wiki lol It's gotta be him. Aussie, in Norway recently, LB, would need to trial, is around; check on everything.

Moofa addressed that in his post, I still think he's the most plausible candidate.

They have a cup game on Sunday. In Finland they have groups like Sweden for the cup (to give a longer pre season). He has been named in the squad Probably a bit more snow than that picture shows. It's not there season ground

I am not saying it is likely but I do think he is a more likely than Gersbach going on trial and makes about the same amount of sense as Jeggo. To be honest the journalist could be completely wrong. On the issue of him recently moving the gap between the two leagues is huge. UEFA reported Finnish clubs had an average overall wage bill of 900 thousand euros. With a 20 player squad Murnane might be on 50,000 euros. The Daily Mirror (be sceptical if you want) reported that average wages in the championship was 367 thousand euros (they gave it in pounds) early last year. Now that is going to be influenced by some very big clubs offering virtually premier league wages but the speculation I found on Barnsley forums still had their average wage at over 200 thousand euros a year. Even as a lower paid player Murnane could be doubling his wages and if Murnane pushed for it his club would probably accept a very small fee. Finnish wage stats on page 91 http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/OfficialDocument/uefaorg/Finance/02/42/27/91/2422791_DOWNLOAD.pdfDaily mirror article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3456453/Mind-gap-Premier-League-wages-soar-average-salaries-2014-15-season-1-7million-rest-creep-along.html

Åland is an autonomous region of Finland. So they may have different tax rules on income. He may also receive tax breaks under a "artist" tax.

Here is the tweet that started the Gersbach rumours, this guy does seems to get a few things right and does a lot on the championship. Weirdly you have to follow him and get approved to see his tweets. I think stiffs means U23s as they played that day. Now if any journalist is using this as a source I don't know how you conclude it as Gersbach as there is no way he could be playing for Burnely on the 15th with him being in China. So that means if this tweet is 100% correct it has to be Jeggo.

Leckie on the bench against Dortmund. They've got many attackers. He's going to need good form.

Game opening up. Leckie should come on. The front 3 is starting to tire and have sprinted a lot.
