Last Aussie in France was Kearyn Bacchus when he was back at Le Mans. Adam Hardy was in Marseilles's youth teams for a bit before injuries got him. Lens are a club with good facilities and a reputation for developing top young players. If they're 15th in the second division though that's not a great sign for their current roster and you'd have to think Gersbach would be a walkup start for them. He needs to aim for a big end of hte season, WC and then a move to Ligue 1, Ligue 2 really should be below him if he has long term national team desires.

Better than if he was playing week in week out in the A-League and competing for a national team spot? I know of at least one team that plays in orange that could do with a young player who could score the odd goal.

Jeggo starting against Dynamo Kiev
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Make that 2:0 goal in added time. Bochum with a mountain to climb.

No Gersbach in the cup but they won. Still training and a bit jet lagged no doubt.

+x+xBristol city fight back to 2:2 but bow out on aggregate. Massive away win for Crawley at second placed Notts County. Kewell to replace Aloisi. No way would a rookie League Two manager move to an A-League club ... not with so much still to prove and showing some promise. Much brighter future for him in England if he can keep it up.

Italian news agency Il Tempo reports that Lazio haven’t found a destination for Ikonomidis yet, and it’s unclear whether the move signifies the Australian hunting for a new club, or Lazio trying to find a potential suitor

Not sure if it has been mentioned in here, but Maclaren was an unused sub in Hibs Scottish cup match against Hearts, the lost 1 nill.

Borrello starting against Darmstadt, important game. Jiangsu demolished by CSKA Sofia but doesn't look like Sainsbury played, at least not in the second half when the demolition occurred.

Has something happened to Kaiserslautern's manager? Can't work out what's going on yet. Maclaren on the bench again.

Maclaren on the bench while Curren starts for Dundee.
No Laws or Popovic but they should play for their 4th tier side this weekend. Jones starting.
