I think it’s all but done Tbone. They’re just crossing the i’s and dotting the t’s before making it official.

+x+x+x+xCan somebody explain to me how this works in relation to squad numbers limit for European competition? He would definitely be in the top 43 players at Celtic despite being short on fitness at the moment. Limit on foreign players for Europe? As far as I know there's no limit on non-europeans, there is only a minimum of 8 'locally trained players' trained in the club's nation for 3 years between 15-21 years of age, 4 of which I think have to be from the club itself. That's for the final 25 man list, not sure about this 43 man squad business. So teams get to name an A List and a B List. The A List is the main 25 man squad and the B list is players U21 who have been at the club for 2 years. Arzani obviously doesn't qualify for the B List so I know 43 man squad makes for a juicier headline but it's actually the 25 man squad he hasn't made. Ontop of that because of Celtic's number of homegrown players in their List A squad, or lack of, they could only list a 23 man List A squad which only made it harder for Arzani. Thanks mate. I probably would agree Arzani isn't in the top 25 players at Celtic TODAY. yep feelin' ya there. TODAY yes, they have to put there best players as of this moment, not ones they can foresee being ready in a week

+x+x+xDoesn’t this mean Arzani can never be selected for the Europa league all year? This is the squad that’s being entered in the competition for the season, right? If so, he probably should’ve never gone to Celtic. I reckon there would have to be a rule or exception somewhere whereby you could replace a player through injury. Can't be that black and white. You can add/remove list A players in January so after the group stage. There is a limit on replacements but Celtic seems to have only named 23/25 in list A so should have more allowance for change in Jan. This is assuming they have 8 locally trained players in list A. If they only have 6 locally trained players their list A will be forced to be 23 players. On Tierney being list B, it is better for players to be list B as they don't take up List A spots. Also list B players can be registered at any point in the season so they could have submitted say 25 players now and if they wanted to use youth players in the last group game they could register them with like a week's notice. So realistically, he could squirm his way in , when he starts proving himself in the Unders !

Simon Hill says it all. If Arzani were say, 21 or 22 we'd be pretty worried but he's only 19. At the moment his football education is still going and it's under a top manager and he'll get his matches in the league.

+xNot making the first XI at this stage is no cause for concern, but not making the first XLIII is a bit of a worry. 😃😂🤣 I had a genuine laugh/giggle. Cheers pal 😄

a couple months ago Declan Hughes,17, who played for ECU Joondalup went over to trial for Ross County under 20's. Never really got any confirmation on whether he'd signed or not.
But he was on the bench for them and came on in the 85th minute on the weekend so looks as though he'll be staying there for at least this whole year I'm guessing.

Is Arzani still not first name on the team sheet yet? That worries me he’s been at Celtic for so long and there are players ahead of him. Hes 19 too, clearly Celtic have rejected him.
On a serious note, Arzani didnt go to Celtic to warm the pine. He will see action and will be in weeks rather than months/years. He’s an Australian and one of our best at the world cup, hes probably stlill getting over jet lag ffs.

Celtic was always a terrible move.
Regardless of most of the excuses in here, he has the ability (and had the option) of choosing any number of clubs where he could of played straight away.
He chose Man City, who in turn chose Celtic because they have a history of building the value of young players (Dembele, Van Djik, Wanyama, Forster etc).
He made his bed, his agent would of been in contact with Celtic for a direct transfer and no doubt would of known what position he would of been in the squad had he signed.
He should of gone to PSV with Van Bommel and BVM. I have no doubt he would of at least been on the bench for them straight away.

I must be one of the few who aren't in the least concerned by Arzani and his current situation. I am 100% confident once he reaches the required fitness level he will be playing. The kid is genuinely talented and will make it in Europe. I'm also sure Man City would be keeping an eye on his situation and if he isnt getting the minutes they desire to develop in the coming months they'll loan him elsewhere

But Davies says there was no sinister motivation behind Arzani's absence, explaining the former Melbourne City player hasn't had enough time at the club to reach the required fitness levels and become integrated within the team setup. http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/why-daniel-arzani-missed-celtics-europa-league-squad/cifqfrur3pdq1jnpb34c54ak9

Celtic have had like 3-4 season games and probably that in UCL/ECL matches. Arzani has had like 1 match. Relax peoples.

2 weeks into training to get up to where they want his fitness. Calling it still early pre-season. Although he's a little further behind than I thought, I don't expect to see him in a Celtic squad till next year.

Of course Arzani is one of Celtic's best 23 and should be in the squad. There can be no doubt about that. If Celtic can't see that, then he made a mistake by going there and is just wasting his time.

yep people need to chill a little, facts are he's been playing professionally for just over 6 months and was never upto the fitness level even at Melbourne city.
joined a new club, in a new continent, after having played no football competitively for a month, he joined after the season had started and just weeks before an international break. the club had struggled for form early in the season and the most recent game was their biggest derby... (if you watched that game it was a total hackfest from Rangers as well)
It would be stupid and irresponsible of the coaching and fitness staff at Celtic to throw him straight into the fist team. they also need to see him play a little first.. no questions over his talent but it is not alarming he is in the reserves to start out.

Gol Gol scored the goal for Sparta Prague in a 3-1 friendly loss. If he can keep plugging away and scoring when he needs to, then he should get a look-in at some point.
Also, Daniel Baggio (18) just signed with Sparta Rotterdam U19. He was previously at Sampdoria primavera. He’s a midfielder. It’ll be interesting to track his progress.

It's fine not to throw him in the first team straight away, but not including him in the 23 man squad for future games is slightly disconcerting. It indicates that Celtic don't really get him yet.

Bouzanis kept a clean sheet in a friendly against Heerenveen.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
