Vidmar turns everything to shit doesn't he?

Looked horrible at the Asian cup but training with Lazio's first team and apparently not to far off a Serie A debut? Somethings up with Vidmar.

Haha, that tournament was the first time I've seen him but I'm not going to judge him on that just yet.
He seems highly rated at Lazio so hopefully he can continue making the right moves over there.

Yeboah started and scored for Borussia Mönchengladbach II in a friendly, maybe an outside chance to get a some gametime for the first team if he keeps scoring.

I think that since he requested a full list he would have spotted him, Giannou is doing well, we don't have many strikers and if Ange wants to be able to put a trip to his country of birth as part of work he will go and see him.

Highlights:

times when he is involved in case you don't want to watch the rest f the highlights (there are only a couple where he is not involved):
- 0:00 Misses a volley at the start from a free kick, coming across him but should have done better.
- 0:10 Goal he is smart playing the whistle, also a nice finish.
- 1:04 I think it is him (commentator sounds like he says Giannou), long ball which he is able to get past the defender and get the shot off but saved pretty easily
- 1:13 2nd goal he gets the assist, an ok pass past some players but not really threatening, more a great finish from his teammate. - 2:13 he collects the ball in the corner and plays a nice pass to a teammate who then makes the pass for the chance which is missed. He seems to be out of the centre quite a bit which can be good in he gets involved in the play but if we are putting a lot of crosses in he might not always be there, could work well with Cahill running up from midfield though.
- 2:58 3rd goal. Holds off the defender well and in the end leaves well for his teammate who finishes it off nicely

maybe wrong about Greece. In an interview with fox today (lined at bottom) he says after England he is going to the Netherlands hopefully going over to Germany a couple of times to see some of our younger players over there (Dortmund, Gladbach and Dusseldorf are all close to Holland) before going back via the middle east. He may just not have anough time before the march friendly to visit countries to only see 1/2 players.

Ryan
missed out on Pro League keeper of the year to Proto, impressive he was in the top three only playing half a season

Quote:
Proto's best goalkeeper Silvio Proto moment later was elected Goalkeeper of the Year.
The final piece of Anderlecht, who had a large share in the land title of Brussels, took it for Sammy Bossut (Zulte Waregem) and Matt Ryan (Club Brugge). Proto received the trophy from former goalkeepers Michel Preud'homme and Jean-Marie Pfaff

http://www.nieuwsblad.be/sportwereld/cnt/dmf20140122_056

Davidson
Looks to be playing CB this week because of a teammates suspension

Quote:
The defender replaces Jeroen Veldmate, suspended for his red card against FC Twente. Dorda comes as left to play, Jason Davidson moves to the center of defense.

http://www.rtvoost.nl/sport/betaaldvoetbal.aspx?nid=180996&cat=313

Smith
More of an opinion piece but Smith seems to have a decent chance to be involved in their FA cup game with week. Liverpool Echo also says he is in contention for the game

Quote:
Brad Smith

Another frail position for Liverpool of late is on the opposite side of defence: the problematic left-back spot.

With Jose Enrique and Jon Flanagan currently out injured, lacklustre French loanee Aly Cissokho has been deployed by Rodgers as the only fit senior left-back available.

This should provide youngster Brad Smith an opportunity to impress against Bournemouth.

Another victim of long-term injury, Australian-born Smith has worked hard to return to the U21s fold, and his eye-catching performances led to a call-up to the senior squad earlier this season.

Unfortunately, Smith’s debut came at an unflattering juncture, deployed on the left wing as Chelsea closed out a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge in December.

As with Kelly, the supposedly lesser opposition should prove to be another confidence building exercise for Smith.

A balance of defensive solidity and attacking pace, can Brad Smith prove himself a true Rodgers-style full-back

http://www.thisisanfield.com/2014/01/5-liverpool-players-benefit-start-bournemouth/

Gallifuoco

Playing in a friendly which had quite a few first team players in it and a few starting players coming back from injury, Don't know the West Ham side but they called it a "youthful". Demel and Vaz Te played, returning from injury but I think went off when Gallifuoco went on. the spurs side:

Quote:
Spurs: Friedel; Naughton (A McQueen, 75), Kaboul (Gallifuoco, 60), Vertonghen (Stewart, 60), Fryers; Capoue, Paulinho (Ward, 60), Sandro (Veljkovic, 46); Holtby (Couleybaly, 75), Kane, Sigurdsson.

So the Philippines have a club called :Team Socceroo? I wonder how FFA feel about that?I can't see anything on their website about the name ,but it does seem to be a club on the rise.Winning second division and now going into the first division.

Why on Earth would they call themselves that?

No mention on wiki of them being founded by Aussies or anything. Weird.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Good to see both guys in Scotland won. I didn't know how far Hearts were behind though. 19 points is ridiculous, I knew about the 15 points deduction but I thought they were not the worst team if that was taken away. Will be interesting to see what he does at the end of the season with his contract up and them relegated. For Irvine now is a good chance for him to get a good run of wins together as the table has been split so he will be only versing bottom half teams.
