Oh damn Kashima equalised. 2-2. 72’.
Ange still leading 4-3 on aggregate but his away goals advantage is now gone.

I was actually hoping Ange loses this one so he can focus on the league. By all indications, the jleague cup is a bit of a nothing comp. Doesn't even earn a champions league spot, so I'm not sure why they're taking it so seriously.

It’s his first shot at silverware! Better to win it than to not...

Final is on October 27th at Saitama I think. Silverware In his first season isn't bad.

Although I doubt Yokohama will sack Ange, even considering their lofty standards, winning the cup and being in such great form currently, all of it will keep him in good stead next season.
Also found out I'll be in Tokyo on the 3rd of November, going to try and make the trip down to Yokohama for a home game to FC Tokyo!!! Excited!

+x+xI hate international breaks. Especially when we aren't playing on the weekend. same, have to wait until Tues. Good thing is NBA starts about then too. Wed so that's a good thing 2. Go BUCKS What? You haven't jumped on the Simmons hype train? Disappointed.

Two goals and an assist for Daniel Bouman at Jong Groningen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DREs8COHXPYYokohama cup highlights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBxFdy13SU4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC8npFLGiCE
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

i hope he leaves. he would be better off playing for a lowly spl team than celtic. at least he would get to play against celtic then, which is probably better than being the big fish in a small pond.

+xi hope he leaves. he would be better off playing for a lowly spl team than celtic. at least he would get to play against celtic then, which is probably better than being the big fish in a small pond. Reports of a get out clause have been dismissed by Celtic "Celtic last night dismissed claims that Australian winger Daniel Arzani has a clause in his contract which would entitle him to return to Manchester City before the turn of the year. Reports from an Australian website had claimed that there is a clause in the teenager’s loan deal that would allow him to leave Celtic and go back to Pep Guardiola’s side if he had not broken into the Celtic first-team by December. However, that has been rubbished by Celtic."

Rodgers is quickly becoming my least favourite coach. What he's doing to Arzani is petty and inexcusable. I'd love it if he got the sack.

Not letting an unproven teenager who has never played 90 minutes waltz right into a starting 11 with players worth ten times his value in line before him is inexcusable?

I never mentioned the starting 11. Even a place in the senior squad or an occasional bench cameo would be a massive improvement. Instead, he's been shut out completely. It's obvious Rodgers doesn't rate him at all (or he would have given him a proper chance by now), which makes the manager look pretty fucking stupid and is a real shame. Or do you really think there are 50 better players than Arzani at Celtic? He didn't even make the 43-man Europa league squad... So fuck yes, it's inexcusable. It makes it clear that Rodgers is actually a fucking idiot.

Yea, how he didn’t make that 40 odd player list for the Europa league is beyond me.
That’s 40 fuc***ng players! If he’s not in the top40 at the entire club then yea, take a hike

Again with this 43 man squad thing lol. For the 100th time, it was the top like 21 or 22 he wasn't part of, not the top 43.

It seems insane to me that some of you are so willing to defend Rodgers while he's openly shafting our brightest prospect in a decade. It's just stupid really.

That 43 man squad was made up of List A and List B players. Arzani is only eligible for List A which is the top 25 and has to include 8 homegrown players. Celtic don't have enough homegrown players so they could only name a 23 man List A. List B is made up of players who are under 21 and have been at the club for 2 years. What's just stupid is claiming that Rodgers and Celtic don't consider him in their top 43 players because he wasn't named in this squad, when you have no clue what you're even talking about.

On a night when youngsters from South Sudan shined for Socceroos, whatever happened to Jason Geria? Anybody knows how he has been doing in J2?

Read the Arzani thread on Celtic chat - the Celtic fans are being downright disrespectful to Arzani, the a league and Australian football in general. And the hilarious thing is it's clear that none of them have ever watched him. It's clear that he wasn't a Rodgers signing and now Rodgers is being stubborn

It's clear that he wasn't a Rodgers signing and now Rodgers is being stubborn Bah I think most people were commenting they'd wait until January. After that, you've gotta be concerned he's not playing professional football. But you would have to go off exactly what BR has mentioned on the record. "He came out of nowhere and went to the World Cup, became the youngest player there," Rodgers said. (came out of nowhere ? ACCORDING TO BR?) "All of a sudden there’s a spotlight on him, so this is about him taking a step back into reality again." (OK ahhh not sure this is the most intuitive BR has ever been) "This is a boy who had never played 90 minutes of senior football, but people are expecting him to come in and be like Eden Hazard or Harry Kewell. Sorry to burst the bubble, but he needs a bit of time to build up his fitness and confidence." (Take this for what it is, what is actually, genuinely , honestly happening) "He’s adapting to a new country after hardly being out of Australia. And he’s still only 19. I’m sure in time he’ll prove to be a very, very good young player." (so he is hinting that he hopes that he is a very very very good young player when time comes and he's up to it) Anyway, wait till January , the longer it gets, the more furious we will get I'm sure. Like I've stated, Arzani is a massive -1 for out NT if sitting on the bench. More worrying thing about BR is his EGO. Doesn't want to 'step on Scottish toes' by catapulting Arzani into the starting line up. Come on ya bitch BR !

Is Rogers trying to force Arzani to miss the Asian Cup due to lack of game time, then pick him when he has missed Australia's Asian Cup Squad? Is this just a petulant Rogers having a go at his overlords for recruiting a player that was likely to be missing club duties in January, because of Non European National duties. I think its starting to look that way!
