+xJust surviving a full J-League season for Ange was impressive. imo taking a team that had never been relegated and that finished 5 the season before to equal on points in the relegation spot was mot impressive for an international coach.

+xunderwhelming? i don't know any of the players but it looks like they've picked up an entirely new backline/cover and a bunch of attacking options.
Oh wow they signed Bunmathan. Ange would have memories of him having Kruse and Leckie in his back pocket in the WCQ draw in Thailand. Played every minute of Thailand's Asian Cup campaign as well, good signing. Every Socceroos fan should remember Tanadari Lee for his winning goal in the 2011 Asian Cup final against Australia. 33 years old now, but these Japanese guys seem to go forever. All three Brazilians have plenty of Brazilian Serie A games under their belts, which is evidence enough.

Amini and Mabil starting Karacic started McGrath got a few minutes from the bench Sains/Behich, Makrillos, Cleur, Pennington bench No Juric
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Things kind of feel down post Asian cup. We had such intensity and build up. It appears many are rounding up the season after 2 tournaments in quick succession.

Hannover are that bad up front currently I'd take Juric in a heartbeat. Shows how many hacks can get a bundesliga gig.

Mehbrahtu is finished at Sparta https://www.efotbal.cz/clanek-197481-Mini-odliv-ze-Sparty-Wiesner-miri-do-Mlade-Boleslavi-Mebrahtu-by-mohl-do-Bohemians-1905.htmlA little bit of interest from other Czech clubs (Bohemians 1905.... the Kangaroos). If Sparta can't sell him, article says they will hold on to him until the end of his contract and will play him in the underage teams.

Thats really unfortunate the move didnt work out as he had done so well at Mlada. Hopefully he finds another Czech move or a move back here could be good.

Is Mabil the only Aussie footballer playing well at a decent level at the moment? Certainly seems like it.

You can make a pretty strong argument that Awer Mabil is the most inform Socceroo going right now.
He's got 10 assists and top of the leader board too.

+xIs Mabil the only Aussie footballer playing well at a decent level at the moment? Certainly seems like it. Mooy, Ryan, Vuka all having above average seasons individually overseas. Degenek, Rhys Williams honourable mentions for the O/S contingent. Then to a lesser extent you have Karacic, and Kalik doing good things in Croatia, but other than that it has been pretty depressing reading post AC.

Ikon is reasonably good atm. I wonder wtf the plan is for players like this going into another World Cup. Stay in the A-League ? I bet he'd agree that would be pretty smart idea, rather than get shuffled around in Europe with nothing to show. No doubt he became the player he is because of his development @ Lazio, but what's the point if you can't get more experience in on the field.

Makrillos doing well in Greece. Luongo, Irvine and Wright playing plenty of games. At least Maclaren is back scoring.

Would have spent 2 years back home and approaching some of his peak footballing years. I thought he was a lot younger than he was, will be 24 at the end of this season. Of course there's no age limit on when he can transition to Europe (Mooy left at 25), but ideally he'd go back sooner rather than later.

Behich is looking to leave PSV. He was bound to be a backup and his competition has played well. Frustrating as Van Bommel insisted he move. It's for the best to go elsewhere.

He's been prolific , if only AUS got further in the AC. Hopefully he gets another chance in some Asian Tournament? Suzuki Cup coming up, what's next for both Mabil and Ikon @ National level. That'd turn more heads if they had awesome tournaments.

Mabil killing it overseas bodes well for his development, well he has taken his opportunities well. He actually is, developing into a pretty effective weapon on the wing. Juric needs to lift his f*cking game. Pretty sure the nation had big hopes for him, one could be inclined to think he has an attitude problem (lazy) and has just been using his stint at Luzern to hide while getting regular call ups for the NT. I could be wrong but how do you explain how he pops up even when supposebly injured every f*cking time for NT camps? I can see how this would legit piss Luzern management off eventually. "Can't play for Luzern but can manage to play for Australia every farking time". Maybe he's done. Any news on where he's hoping to go next ???

Hrmm pretty shit reading in here lately. Was always bound to happen with FFA doing everything possible to kill youth development.

+xHrmm pretty shit reading in here lately. Was always bound to happen with FFA doing everything possible to kill youth development. Huddersfield #relegated is pretty shit. Behich and Sains not even playing. Ryan is killing it but how exciting does watching a GK get ? Mabil's league is barely televised. Leckie has been out since god knows when ... AC? We need a few more in the Bundesliga, its such a popular league. If only Borello kept playing because Maclaren didn't seem to have some basic ingredients for that league. Kruse's career is a non event, pointless however can be entertaining @ times. Rogic, probably the biggest non-event currently. Arzani, we didn't even get a chance to see how big that partnership in midfield could have been. (twice the entertainment value) Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh WHAT THE HECK

I do think Ikon should go another year in Perth. Time will tell. I actually think Ikon would be great in the J League or K League. Call me crazy but I'd even think an MLS club like Atlanta would be a great thing.
I fear he'd end up somewhere with a nutter manager who just wastes him on the bench. There are some odd types at the helm.
Ideally he'd do well in bundesliga 2 at a better club, say, Hannover or Union Berlin.

Watching Hannover this season kills me when to think how much better we'd be with a Rogic, Luongo, Sainsbury, Irvine or even bloody Juric! These guys have world cups and national team status along with lots of club experience and not even a rumour comes about. Nürnberg, Hannover and a few others have a lot of lesser players in their squads.
