+xIredale got put in the starting line up for the second league game and scored the opener in a 3-0 win. Totally forgot to check that last night. Great he's playing and scoring.

“The Australian left back’s future in Seattle answers one of the biggest questions this summer regarding the club. Smith originally signed a short-term loan to play in Seattle through July, while his rights where still with the English Premier League’s AFC Bournemouth, but the Sounders are paying about half of his $1.14 million deal with Bournemouth. Now, he’ll stay with Seattle through the end of this MLS season.” https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/sounders/australian-fullback-brad-smith-will-remain-with-the-sounders/

Leckie lost his wedding ring in a training. They couldn't find it in the grass.

Goal for Ruka in a Europa League qualifier, but not enough to avoid getting knocked out by Strasbourg.

Giannou played 90 and got an assist in a 4-0 Europa league win which puts them through. Him and Taggart have to be the two strikers picked for September.

+x+x+xIn a competitive game those defenders would have easily been robbed of the ball especially against equal or better quality opposition. Ok Not doubting he can get a team to play well against poorer or roughly equal standard opposition. Just didn’t work for a national team in pressure games against opposition who man for man are at least as good as your team. But good luck to him as a club coach. We need coaches like him to do well o/s. yeah cause to maintain possession. you need to able to pass and trap the ball at a reasonable technical level this is not a important aspect for young coaches they want speed and strength over technical ability which is why we are where we are.

Yokohama is clear second after the mid week catch up games. Both Kawasaki and Kashima had a chance to overtake them, but both failed to win.

TWG article states elsewhere on continent so not Switzerland. I doubt bundesliga 2 but really, with top fitness, confidence and good service he'll be fine at that level.
It'll probably be somewhere down south where his roots are. I don't think they pay particularly well there? In that case maybe Belgium or even a smaller Dutch club.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Maty defeats his old club!
Maty played the full match as Brighton ran out 2-1 winners over a full-strength Valencia at The Amex Stadium in Brighton’s final hit-out before the start of the PL next weekend.
Brighton have had a cracking pre-season, testing out a new fluid 3-4-3 formation that Graham Potter is trying to embed as soon as possible.

Brighton's opening matches seem a bit lighter so hopefully they can get a good start.

Yokohama on now. QPR playing at midnight although there is almost zero chance of Luongo playing as transfer rumours still swirl after being left out of pre season.

Plenty of lower English league action coming up. I'll be at Hannover game so updates will be very few. Huddersfield start Monday night.

No Burgess for Salford.
Former South Melbourne defender Carl Piergianni started for them though.
