Sounds like Salley's doing well... Playing every minute for the current 3rd best team in China.

I'm surprised Holger hasn't tried him in defence.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

To put things in perspective if Kruse starts for leverkusen that would put him in the top five outfield players for Australia of all time so he is up against the odds. Fingers crossed though

Not really news but Holland did a performance interview which was posted a few days a go about passing

http://www.fk-austria.at/NEWS-LISTE.407+M5d1dc855141.0.html

Quote:
Golden Eye: James Holland verrät, wie man "Übersicht" trainiert

"If professionals reveal what makes them strong!"

Welcome to another edition of fk austria.at-performance series. This time reveals Midfield director James Holland, the tricks you can improve visibility and passing game.

In midfield, center-located, James Holland will rarely find in this season rooms where he has plenty of time to choose the best face-off station. Hardly on the ball, the Australian national team is made immediately by the first opponent.

"Awareness" as it is called Holland, is the most important feature in this case. States: "Even before you get to the ball, you should know exactly where and negative players are stationed and what's happening around you." Practicing this can be already in training. "Whether we make only simple pass exercises or play a match, I look before receiving the ball always know what is happening around me - so it becomes a habit."

And how to choose the right pass? "Often it's a matter of feeling," says Holland. Nevertheless, there are methods to meet more often the "right decision". "What matters most is the question of where one could create outnumbered situations. Of course, here also the tactical requirements of the coach to play a role, "But what is definitely beneficial". Observed teams during setup! So you get the fastest understanding of the game. "

Of course, game understanding and peace benefit ball on anything if you are not able to play the ball to where you want to have him happy.

Therefore, "Jimbo" (Holland nickname on the team) advises: "Try to pass all the training accuracy and the correct focus consciously accompany it. And of course it helps a little to stay for a longer session outside to work on the pass technology. "So even those muscle groups are required, which are used in the passing game.

another pretty bad result for them though being 3-1 up going into the last 10 minutes and drawing 3-3. Only mention of Holland in the match report from the official site said he played a perfect pass to Hosiner at the start of the second half but it was put over the bar

Langerak with a good 1 on 1 save. Still 0-0 after 68mins! Wilhelmshaven keeper doing brilliantly! Wouldn't mind this one going to penalties to see Langerak have some more action.

Kruse still on bench. Son has come on with Lev up 4-1

Federici on the bench. Surely has to find a new club.

Kruse on the bench along with Son, Öztunali (young talent) and Hilbert (ex national team) How friggin convenient! Hegeler starting along with Sam. Can't stand Leverkusen and their stockpiling of players.

Good news with Langerak in goal for BVB in Wilhelmshaven and he will play next week matchday 1 as Weidenfeller is suspended.

Ruka not in Mainz squad.

There is absolutely no reason in the World Kruse should need to find a Bundesliga.2 club to be playing first team football. He'll play this season. He is too good of a player not to.

We'll all be watching with keen interest how Kruse goes at his new, bigger, club. His was becoming a star at his former club and a regular, key, player at the very least. Let's hope he can break through at Leverkusen fairly quickly and he's NOT seeing this season WASTED as he's relegated to being an 'impact sub' at the very most.

IF that's the case then they may aswell loan him out, even back to his old club!

One of our NT's leading players, it's crucial he sees regular game time this season!

it seems Mainz are looking at getting rid of Ruka. From what I have seen it is just that he does not fit their system.

Here is a quote but I think the second line is a bit of a bad translation and should say they will not put any obstacles in their way

http://www.sportal.de/bundesliga-fsv-mainz-bleibt-ein-ausbildungsverein-1-2013071228556400000

Quote:
On the other hand both left defender Malik Fathi and striker Nikita Rukavytsya can leave the club. Both "know that we attach to them any obstacles in the way when they find another club," said Heidel.

The club haven't done their English version (so lots of it is Google translated from dutch) of their match report but I have gotten a few things about the game Ryan played this morning. Also some good news is that Kujovic (their main GK last season) was on the bench this game, was returning from injury though so may not have been fully fit but still it shows confidence in Ryan

Highlights, a chipped goal which always makes Ryan look kinda short but it was an open 1v1. does pretty bad on a shot at about the 4 minute mark that looks like going wide which he fails to grab and I think deflects it slightly closer to goal

Ryan reaction

he was one of 3 players selected for reaction interviews, here is his:
http://clubbrugge.be/nl/nieuws/16514/reacties-na-slask-wroclaw-club-brugge

Quote:
Mathew RYAN

"Too bad we could not score"

Mathew Ryan could keep long with some first-rate saves the zero on the board, but after twenty minutes in the second half to give the Australian keeper has finally won Plaku the ball perfectly Ryan goal in goal. "It was a one on one situation and so I tried to keep large and wide. Me as long as possible But I must admit that he completed it perfectly. "
The Australian Club is aware that no good result set in Poland, but remains fully believe in qualifying opportunities. "I'm still not long at Club, but we can in any case much better than what we have shown today. However, I think we also have to show and have quite a number of good chances enforced. Good things It is a pity that we could not score. Who is now the favorite to qualify? They are now in favor, but is followed by a return game for a home crowd so we have everything in our own hands. But we will have to play today. "(SF) better

Ryans mentions from their match report

http://clubbrugge.be/nl/nieuws/16509/matchverslag-slask-wroclaw-club

Quote:
However, Blue-Black started sloppy to the party. The Poles put early pressure so the locals were not their game. So Ryan had an early shot of Mila address, while a fine reflex could hold.

The home team could still threaten the peace once, but the strong keepende Ryan pushed a shot over the crossbar Sobota.

Moments later the Polish goalkeeper had a bang on again Refaelov slip out of his hands, but the ball bounced against the post. Across Ryan seemed to follow his example, but this time rolled the ball just wide.

Club seemed better to sit in the game after the break but it was Slask Wroclaw - boosted by the enthusiastic home supporters - after an hour playing the lead came. Plaku slipped through the offside goal and the 1-0 perfectly Ryan in goal.

on a polish report it was suggested Ryan dealt with a 1v1 earlier in the game but it might have been a miss translation as it was not in the highlights

Langerak is in line to play the first two games of the season

Source: http://www.bvb.de/?k%E5%84%ECZ%1B%E7%F4%9C%5Cn%E7%84%9E

Quote:
Roman Weidenfeller, who missed the final Test in Würzburg for back pain, is also back in training, but is expected to sit on the bench in the Cup match in Wilhelmshaven. The physical problems play a subordinate role in this decision. Since Weidenfeller is locked to the league starting in Augsburg (red card on the 34th day of the season against Hoffenheim), Mitch Langerak will also come in the cup used. The Australians can thus collect more match practice in Wilhelmshaven. Klopp: "I intend to let Mitch play on Saturday." Boris Rupert
