For me Amini still looks like a kid in physical stature, carrying baby fat. He still doesnt look defined and physically "strong". Hes still only 21, and even by my development you only really grow into your body by 23-24 , but you'd think in his time at dortmund the training and workload would mold a more "chiseled athletic" player, even Antonis looks more "fit". Perhaps its this, his physical sharpness and strength thats defining him as always "not ready". Because theres no doubting his ability, im a big fan and its not glossing things to say in his time in the a-league he schooled alot of the competition at a young age.
He really needs to be vocal about a loan away, even Bulli 2. He needs to toughen up, grind it out, and mature..

You must have missed this article http://www.sportal.com.au/football/news/mustafa-amini-jurgen-klopp-says-im-a-man-now/labpgclrifuo1whlsovzufs4j. There was also a pic of him floating around with the washing-board abs and looking fir as fuck so it is one area he has improved over the last off season. From memory Graham Arnold used describe him as an umpa lumpa.

SC03 wrote:The Amini situation is very frustrating - I only saw his short cameo against Liverpool in pre-season but he looked the goods, he has clearly progressed a lot since he left the A-League and if only he was getting game time now he could do a job for us at the Asian Cup. He is ahead of Brillante in terms of development and ability at this point in my opinion, just needs some bloody game time! Yep, I agree most definitely! He is ready to make a big impact, he just needs some time on the pitch. I loved what I saw in his pre-season with the Dortmund A team, Klopp has said the right things.

I love it how on this thread those of us informed of overseas Aussies are quick to pull in line the clueless cunts that decide to share their 2c. [-(
Lift your games, I know Musty certainly has!

For what it's worth, Amini has been on the bench for Dortmund before in Cup games and Champions League. They obviously view something in him, just not sure whether he'll get the chance to play a competitive game for them.

Maybe they're giving him a taste to try and inspire him to the next level, Dortmund have also been besieged by injury which helps

Amini starting for the reserves
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

playmaker11 wrote:Amini starting for the reserves Well that is all the more good news, given the recent discussion and tbh long-term discussion, queries, over Amini's mixed progress at Dortmund, since his time there! Hopefully he can see a consistent run of starts and start to star with the BVBII team and at that 3 Liga level, atleast. And if he really can't get senior team chances for a while, then secure a high enough level loan. Obviously Leckie (Gladbach loaning him out to FSV and co) and others managed this - If Amini shows enough, then a Bundi 2 loan atleast. And if his contract nearer to end, the more he can impress at 3 Liga, the better chances he has of a better next move. Edited by gloryperth: 18/9/2014 03:26:38 AM

Well they just lost 3-5 to Forest after coming from behind to be 3-2 up. None of Williams, Burgess or Taggart was in the squad.

Amini played a full match, lost 3-1 (against league leaders Chemnitzer).
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Hiring Magath was always a terrible decision by Fulham. I have a soft spot for those Southern ponces so hopefully they can get back to winning ways.

Interesting, now how many Australians have actually played or sat on the bench in a team that has a strong chance of winning the champions league? Fair enough if you don't get excited about it, but I would think it's pretty amazing!!!!

Klopp just said in a presser that he'll have to bring in some U23s on the weekend, so Amini might make the bench. Not that it's anything to really celebrate but.. yaknow. Just sayin'.

If he was on the bench for manchester united people would be jizzing but that would arguably be a step down (perhaps a significant one). Its basically like being on the bench for real madrid

I don't agree with ranking leagues and clubs. It's pretty pointless especially when our boys struggle to make bench.
