Zwolle's win (no Sainsbury) means they are in the Europa league play-off

Brugge's loss drops them down to third, out of the Champions league spots

Sainsbury on the bench. 72Min already two subs made. Really hope Rogic gets some minutes, could signal that delia likes him

What it could also signal is he has some genuine qualities that couldn't keep him off the pitch.

And we all have this knowledge already

Yeah, Aberdeen really should have equalised. They're chasing the game and have more to lose...so probably for the best that Rogic stays off. I can see him being subbed on and getting taken out and injured again within 30 seconds.

Article on Brillante's disappointing season. We already know this but reading the comments is more interesting. Also here is an exert from an interview with the president of empoli (by a Fiorentina site) where he is asked about Fiorentina's loanees. He seems positive and lets hope it is more than just friendly fluff.

Jeezus, some real crucifixions in those reads. Among a few positive comments.

We all know Josh is still learning his craft, but my god he'll be tougher mentally after what he's gone through there just to get some game time. Makes me think if he'll jump ship early

This might be a silver lining. Some would argue that it's better to be playing in the A-League, than not at all. But you have to weigh that against the quality of the Serie A. In any event, the silver lining is that it will hopefully make Josh mentally tougher. Apparently Schwarzer said something about the stiff competition for spots in a starting XI at at European club being good for the development of young players. Obviously we'd love it if they just walked straight into teams. But hopefully he gets the mental fortitude that Schwarzer, Moore, Chipperfield, Grella, Cahill, etc. had.

Can't see the crucifixions in the comments section. Most people are blaming Montella on the way he treated Brillante by dumping him after just 30mins in the openning game against Roma.

This quote pretty much sums up most supporters feelings:
Quote:
Altro clamoroso errore di Montella e C.: ci avrebbe fatto molto comodo e avrebbe pure segnato qualche gol (nel suo ruolo, ovviamente, ovvero come mediano centrale davanti alla difesa).

Basically saying Brillante's exclusion is another big failure caused by Montella and that Josh would have done very well in the side and scored a few goals from central midfield (something they lacked this season).

Also as moofa points out, most people are pointing the finger at Montella for 'bruciare', literally meaning 'burning' but essentially meaning using Brillante as a scapegoat for larger reasons.

This quote was quite funny  :
Quote:
La faccenda di Brillante è il principale motivo che mi ha definitivamente convinto del fatto che Montella sia un “piccolissimo” uomo.

I got the gist vaguely on that sort of, but the other article also wrote he was less developed 'immature' than their Italian same aged players.

Also they were saying Josh was used as a scapegoat just to point out the weakness in the transfer market at that point in time, and he was just a trigger signing because Montella was pissed off that they had no better player to choose. Talk about shite, could have played him off the bench or something rather than use him in starting lineups if he was going to sub him immediately after 30

heres hoping preston gets promoted and kilkenny gets good game time for them. Wright we know will get game time but kilkenny has been in and out. Would be good to have another central midfielder playing in europe in a good league.

Wright actually got the assist for Beckfords screamer. While you wouldn't expect it to end as an assist he does well to win the ball and pass it off first time

Looks good! Hard to judge from a 5 min highlights package but a few nice little passes and a good assist for the 2nd goal (3:05).

Dortmund II looking at a great escape, winning 2 in a row and now needing only at least 2 points from their last 2? (I'm not sure what their policy is on using good players in the 2nds to avoid relegation late in the season). I guess probably irrelevant if Amini leaves anyway but a nice note to go out on if that does happen.

Assist for Luongo, 7-3 with less than ten minutes left.

Good ball from Luongo, but the Swindon striker deserves the credit for a great touch around the final defender.
