the problem is it helps oz football to either go to a tougher league to help the roos or go to the a league to help improve its quality

of course no player should be criticized for taking advantage of the incentives in front of them
but the national coach needs to create dicincentives for going to low quality wealthy leagues through their selection policy

Well Troisi is only a bench player under Ange and wasn't even selected in this squad such is our depth in his position so he may not be needed anyway.

I think the competition you face week in week out is weaker than the a-league though,which is the problem. i have no doubt the facilities and training is great

My opinion of the SPFL has changed the last month or so, it's better than I thought. I still think tactically and technically the A league is better but the SPFL isn't that bad and it's a lot faster than the A League.

I'd have to agree with Luke on this one. The competition he'll get each week will be far greater than trips to Newcastle and Central Coast. The argument is signing on with a European club vs a Gulf/Middle Eastern club. Europe of course is more favourable however I don't think the Saudi league is the end of the world. Quality is better than our league.

Exactly. The danger of saying things like the petrol leagues etc is that it implies they are all of the same quality. It is without doubt the Saudis have a better league and nt than the qataris or the UAE.

there is some good competition in SA. but the overall tempo of the game is slower and less physical. if we had a full credible league on our current standards - more than 10 teams + promo and relegation, we would be a better option.
