I'd agree with adthro. No one could land a pass. So many meaningless passes that lost them possession. De Silva came on and they almost instantly looked better because they finally had an outlet. He could actually pass the ball. Looked sharp, good touches under pressure. Made some good runs too. Looking forward to him growing at Roda.

It's absolutely great news to see the three of them playing. I was delighted. Yes the Dutch League is not a top league in Europe but it is a great place to further your development while playing regular high intensity football. Hopefully Roda force themselves into Europe for next season.
Btw De Silva looked good in his cameo. Exciting prospect, hopefully he works his way into a starting role.

This feels similar to what happened with FC Utrecht with Oar, Sarota and Zullo.
Back great for our NT causes. I feel it's better than that tbh. Sarota and Zullo were carrying Oars bags. well they kind of took it in turns sarota had a full season where he was a starter and a bit of a standout. Oar got minutes just before he turned 19 and made the starting squad in the following season zullo had bouts as a starter but injuries and form meant he struggled to keep it up

Update on what is happening with Brad Smith. Looks like he wants first team football and Liverpool wants to keep him or get compensation. I think looking for first team football is the right move but you have to wonder if he did a full pre-season at Liverpool there could have been a decent chance for first team football with Moreno out of favor and Gomez and centre-back played the first few games at left back. Irvine was nearly put in a similar situation where he was offered a Celtic contract even though they weren't going to play him but wanted to get something for him, luckily for him he could walk away from Celtic more easily than what Smith is going through. Quote:And Johnson also revealed the chances of signing Liverpool trialist Brad Smith have all but disappeared.
Australian international winger Smith has been training with the Reds, but Johnson admitted: “It’s probably a no-go due to the fact that Liverpool are still trying to keep him.
“They’re also demanding some strong compensation for him which is their prerogative and they’re entitled to do.
“Brad’s got a decision to make now. Does he re-sign for Liverpool for the right reasons? Or does he move on?
“If he moves on then any club would have to pay a healthy transfer fee.
“It’s difficult because he wanted to get first-team football somewhere because he didn’t get that at Liverpool, but Liverpool obviously still feel he has the potential to get into their first-team.” http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/barnsley/barnsley-reds-boss-lee-johnson-hits-back-at-negative-football-critics-1-7480657

He never really stood out for me at Utrecht even when he was regularly playing in 2012 and 2013. Looked like he was replaceable. He looked off at the Roar, it was as if he couldn't deal with the physicality of the HAL (As was the case with that Nijland bloke at the Roar who is now carving it up in the Dutch League).

I don't think so. There are a few football league regulations that they may be using but pretty much since he is under 24 Liverpool can still request compensation. TheSelectFew wrote:moofa. He's captained them four undefeated games THIS season. He missed all of last season with an injury.
