Jeeez that was a bad penalty...
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Ohh Leckie, missed penalty! Harnik only played for Bremen. Better news 96 beat Cologne with a handball goal.

Did Leckie miss a penalty?! Sheesh, that's not the first pen he's missed in his career, is it - IIRC he missed a pen or two with AU too?! :-k
Gee he needs to practice his finishing and pen taking more!

bad by the forward, tried to controll it with two defenders around him, could have flicked it onto Leckie

still nil - nil, Leckie really should have converted that penalty, but it's a good sign of how much responsibility he has.

Thanks for the updates moops!
He really needs to be more clinical generally. He wasn't convincing with the NT recently either - albeit a tactical mismatch that game. He had a good goal-scoring run with AU that led to his leaving overseas initially, but haven't seen him hit a run of goals at any level since? So it's not like he can't finish and at NT level, it's not like he can't find himself in good goal-scoring positions either! Just the usual composure and/or decision-making that so many younger aged talents seem to lack (He still does or did against Jordan, shocking in the final third including an over-hit cross within the box). Off-topic, but on the front it was good to read about and see highlights of, Borrello getting in the goals with Roar and the manner in-which he finished too!

Edited by GloryPerth: 19/10/2015 03:29:57 AM well, I don't know if you have played football, but confidence is probably 50% of performance. It would be good short term if he scored(by confidence), but he did start well and has dropped in a trough of late, time to see what he is made of, can he become something great? Sains played a full match but his side got fucked 5-1 at home by Vitesse. Seems to be a fan fav so it seems all good.

Fark if the boys are this reactive to a shit house NT performance maybe we're fuckin a long way away from where we want to be confidence wise, performance wise. Leckie is an interesting one because he always seems to play at another level for Ingolstadt... perhaps the players around him help, the style they play is a pressing style also so work that one out for Ange ball. I thought LEX took the pens at Ingolstadt wtf ? he was on also. or maybe that's it he hasn't started many games.. ftw totally missed the start and that penalty sheeeeett

For the good of Australian football you better have been touching wood when you typed that!
